Nose is smooth pine resin, grass, and light citrus. Flavor is light sweet hops and bready malts throughout, finishes on the sweeter side. Medium body, chewy texture, light carbonation. A nice, light, hoppy IPA with a sweet emphasis, very easy drinking with only hints of alcohol warmth. mnjeff (5), Rochester, Minnesota, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Served from bottle to a pint glass via an aggressive pour.
A: A bright copper color with an inch of head is poured initially, which fades to virtually no head. Though the head has all but dissipated it leaves a medium cling along the glass. You can clearly see this DIPA is unfiltered, and this contributes to a better looking beer.
S: I can smell a note of citrus (orange I believe) and a big whiff of alcohol. Not an incredibly abundant hop profile in the nose.
T: A lot of sweet fruit flavors on the tongue, off the bat I’m getting a bitter grapefruit flavor that dominates. A light hop bitterness in the background hides 95% of the alcohol in this brew.
M: Mouthfeel is medium, which to style impresses the heck out of me. Again, I feel that because this brew is unfiltered this lends an extra depth of viscosity to this beer.
D: This has to be one of the most drinkable DIPA’s I have ever experienced.
If you have not sampled this beer, grab a six pack and share with your fellow BA’s. A great brew to style, well worth a try (or 6). scoth (277), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Cloudy copper pour with a foamy, bubbly white head that collapsed quickly and left poor lacing. Smells right, with lots of piney hops. Flavor starts out great with a lot of caramel malt balancing the pine and lemony citrus, but it grows ever-harder to drink as an odd funk comes on at the finish and leaves a metallic twangy aftertaste. deyholla (695), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Bottle at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured hazy dark gold with a white head. Aroma was full of piney notes. Flavor began with a citrus hoppiness and became more piney towards the finish. A bit of an unpleasant metallic taste. Goblincat (357), Westland, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Light copper in color, off white head. Nice aroma, with non-overpowering hops and fruit. The taste is nice, starting with a sharp bite and quickly moving to feeling quite smooth, amazing considering the amount of hops and alcohol it contains.
