Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Hazy golden with floating impurities and a firm white head. Lightly fruity nose. Medium body, dry and leathery accents, smoky accents and very astringent hops in the finish. Not so well made. 041009

Bottle @ Vilvordia Bierproef Festival, Jette, Brussels. Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden color with a small white head. Has a malty fruity aroma with some hints of candy sugar. Sweetish malty slightly spicy yeasty flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty spicy yeasty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

(Bottled) Very hazy, greenish yellow with a small but firm, lacy head. Aroma of lemony maltiness, and a tiny hint of acidity and sweetness. Slight roastiness in the flavor, with mild acidity and sweetish-caramely malt. Hides the alcohol well. Medium body, soft carbonation. An easily drinkable and reasonably balanced brew, but this could as well be from Van Steenberge. Once again a well-made and clean beer, and a rock-solid start for this new brewery. Now all they need is to invent something to stand out from the crowd - without selling out to sweetness or spices.

Very good, yellowish tinted head over fully hazy golden beer with verdigris shine. Creamy nose, with pale malts, white candi sugar, cyanide/bitter almonds aroma. Dry-bitterish flavour, with clear references to white candi sugar. Some discreet bread flavour, undoubtedly the rye speaking - not at all unpleasant! Quite spritzy MF, reasonably attenuated, alcohol reasonably discreet. Bit unidimensional, which is not uncommon in golden tripels. More than acceptable - and I’m wondering why my senses tell me candi sugar, when apparently none is used.
