Medium body, soft carbonation, oily and coating. Fruity nose with notes of honey and spice, maybe a bit of cinnamon. Cocoa i did not really taste, was really looking for that, peppery spiceyness was neat, light earthy and vinous notes too boot. Dry, peppery finish. Bottles procured @statelineliquors. Interesting brew but somewhat dissapointing in flavors and aromas. thebusstop (16), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Despite many others saying they did not detect the chilies, I did, probably because it was the one element I wasn’t looking forward to. Nevertheless, it appeared in its long finish, just a subtle suggestion that I had just had something with chilies in it. Made for an interesting experience. Otherwise, it poured a lovely, cloudy yellow with very little head. Aroma was lacking and quite disappointing. Overall, interesting, malty, spicy, definitely worth trying! henrybasset (3), Maryland, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Nice head, color. Aroma lacking. Very malty which goes along with the higher alc. content. Would probably not buy a second bottle. waltersrj (30), Washington, USA

The nose is chocolate, cinnamon, and some chili pepper. The taste is a lot like Mexican coffee. Alcohol is somewhat present and warming. This us interesting. DFH makes many great beers and always try interesting things. Decent beer. Funknmilla (593), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Consumed 6-7-09....Bottle in the rack since Nov. 2008..... Slightly cloudy on the pour with a light copper body...not much head happening...just a skimming of light beige~~~when I sniffed the bottle (before the pour)...cocoa wafted into my nostrils, and not as much in the glass......nose to glass is a honey driven aroma followed by tea....It tastes like candy corn! (infused with alcohol)....honey makes a sticky impression on the lips, then I get vanilla.....interesting aroma to the Theobroma...chillies not so much anywhere though....its drinkable...very interesting it captures the essence of a beer fest.....sweet malts throughout....finish is a bitter tea bag.....body is thick but not overdone...its so damn interesting I want more of it...small sediment left in the glass.....acquired via trade with beachbum25...thanks :) BuckeyeBoy (1657), Boise, Idaho, USA

Pours out a golden with almost no head. Aroma of spice, wood, and some grains. Taste more of the spice some sweet candy and tropical fruit. A little odd. Teege (87), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. I was really looking forward to this beer, but over all I found it kind of disappointing. Pours a clear orange/peach color with a very light head. The aroma is promising with hints of passion fruit, some exotic spices and a floral background. The flavor on the other hand mixes all of its complexity together so that nothing really stands out. The cocoas and the chillies are really barley noticeable, which is frustrating because those are the flavors that should make this beer exciting. It definitely improves as it warms but never quite gets there. On top of everything the mouthfeel is much too thin. j12601 (1258), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2009 On tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a clear orange with a faint white head. Light chocolate, no chili sadly, a bit of vanilla. Tastes a bit like Abuelita, Nestle’s Mexican chocolate. A bit of cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla. Finishes dry and a bit grainy with some lingering sweetness and the faintest hint of chili spice that was missing before.
