From a 12 oz bottle this poured an orange hue with a medium sized white head and light lacing rings. The nose is the aroma of floral hops. Medium mouthfeel. The flavor is strongly of pine and some citrus, Very bitter finish. While named an IPA this seems more like an APA to me in spite of the finish.

11/08/2009: Erie Misery Bay... Aroma: Caramel and grain hulls. Appearance: Hazy marigold color; beige foam; scalloped lacing. Flavor: Chewy caramel; spent grain; malty; dry spicy finish; mild bitterness. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; chewy. Overall: This is an IPA?! More like and Amber Ale or maybe an Irish Red - it’s all malt!

12 fl. oz. bottle ( 6.5% ABV) shared by Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #122 for this beer.

A pop of the cap brings a decent bouquet of bitter hops that doesn’t last long however. The burnt orange appearance is nice with a soft, foamy head, but the body appears to be just a bit too clear. The flavor is a bit of pine and citrus, like Orange Pinesol...joke. While the watered down palate lacks the ability for the flavors to really cling to the tastebuds. The hops save this beer, but it seems to fall into the APA category for me. CP

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Seems malt dominated caramel and tawny malt tones among some pine and a light grapefruit note. Poor ipa.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 11/6/09

Aroma: The aroma is quite powerful at first, but dissipates quickly, I got some floral hops, but after a few moments it’s mostly just bready malts, kind of a borderline 6/7, but you have to get a good whiff right away before it disappears
Appearance: It pours a hazy, dark caramel color, with a thin white head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is alright, balanced and decent, but not too exciting
Palate: Medium in body with a decent finish and an alright mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This was just a decent beer all the way around. It wasn’t the most exciting example of the style, but I will say it is a pretty drinkable brew. Man, that initial whiff was exciting, where did it go? Oh well. It’s a decent beer.

Amber golden pour. Thick white head. The nose has a lot of blackberry fruitiness. Lots of light resinous character on the back of the palate. It seems to be a bit on the Ukish side of things with a fairly crackery base as well, but it has nice balance and certainly tastes pretty good.

We’ve been near Misery Bay at the Peninsula, we were attacked by more mosquitoes there they any of us had seen in our lives, misery indeed. But on to the beer, nice looking, orange, thin head, spotty lacing. Interesting nose, malty, cherries, a touch of bourbon, low on hop notes. Hoppy palate, malty too, very gritty, very well done and likable.

Bottle from S&V - Fort Wayne. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good brew.
