| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Pours a clear golden, quite lively, with a big white head, leaves nice lacing, is very viscous... Aroma is citrusy, orange, creamy, and alcoholy... Piney flavor, different hops than usual, kind of spicy... Warming, medium-full bodied, medium full mouthfeel, noticeable alcohol... These Leviathan series beers have all been a different take on the style, and are worth trying.... StinkBall (42), Asheville, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Nice thick head. Great copper/orange appearance. Peach is the first and dominating aroma to hit. Nice smell. Fruity hoppyness flavor. Awesome beer. A hop head’s paradise. A beer I could drink all night, every night. Highly recommended for the hop heads out there. A great Imperial IPA. I will have this again. Heathen (795), Riverside, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2009 THOUGHTS: Really nice. Very well balance. Hid alcohol fairly well. Not much to say other than it is nice. It could be better, but nice.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light orangey amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt; moderate resinous and orangey hops, along with a little cat pee hops, candied fruit and alcohol. The initial flavor was rather sweet, bitter and a bit acidic; while the finish was very sweet and rather bitter with a long duration. There was orange, caramel, resinous and orangey hops, slight metallic hops, a little alcohol, and citrus. The medium to full body was a little oily, but fairly syrupy and then dry with fizzy carbonation and an astringent, lightly metallic, and lightly alcoholic finish. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a 2 finger foamy beige head that leaves delicate lacing. The nose is sweet malt and ripe citrus. The taste is caramel, sweet citrus and lingering pink grapefruit tartness and resin in the finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Nice IIPA – thanks again Brad! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottle, poured a clear rich orange with a slight hint of head. Nose is sweetish and piny hops. Fairly big and bitter, with nice, but not overpowering hop notes. Most of the abv is pretty well hidden, although there is a hint of it in the finish, which is also fairly bitter. A bit on the sweet side overall, but a decent imperial ipa. beerbill (1949), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazed gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left decent lace. Very pleasant aroma of sweet malt, oranges, and grapefruit. The flavor begins with a strong backbone of sweet malt followed by a solid wash of citrus bitterness along with some fruit flavor of grapefruit and orange. Some resinous pine adds to the texture as well as the sweetness. The finish is white grapefruit pith and alcohol and is my least favorite part of this beer. bp (456), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 10, 2009 bottle: hazy amber with a frothy white head, aroma of citrus and floral hops, taste is hoppy, citrus, malty, mildly bitter finish, fairly well balanced DIPA which makes it a beer you can actually have more than one of in a night. msante79 (822), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2009 12oz bottle from Cloverleaf in Royal Oak. Pours hazy golden orange with white head. Aroma is heavy with sweet malts and hops with some caramel, citrus, and light tropical fruit. Flavor is starts with large dose of sweet malts followed by citrus and caramel. Finishes with bitter hops and light alcohol burn. A little cloying sweetness going on. While there is pletty of hop bitterness this one sort of leans to the sweet and malty type of IIPA. Full mouthfeel and appropriate carbonation. This is solid but not really my type of IIPA.
