Bottle that I picked up at Dranken Geers 31-10-09 consumed at home 10-11-09 Pours dark brown with a filmy head. There is light yeast and malt on the nose. Smooth, sweet with a little burn from the alcohol. Soft in the mouth with gentle carbonation, some ice creamy type flavours, quite liked this. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov13 3.1

A Mes rate. Tap at Paradise Fest.
I had two servings of this one. One with Ian and he thought it was crap, I thought it was ok. The second was with the Mancs we met in Antwerp a few days before and it was a totally different story. All I can think is we got the bottom of a bottle first time round. The only thing I can liken this two is when you blend Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel. It makes a glorious amber beer and this is pretty much the same. Excellent.

On tap at OBriens, alongside Allagash Odyssey. Pours a dark copper color with little head development. Swirling releases a fruity plum aroma with raisin, cherry and clove. Flavor is filled with fruity esters that endure on the back of the palate. Some nuances of candy sugar complement the sweet malt base. The finish is quite smooth, with a prominent tone of Belgian yeast. Overall very tasty, a bit sweet, and quite fruity.

330 ml Bottle. Very dark brown with an orange-amber tint and a tall light tan head. Rich caramel and dark fruits. Dried plums and raisins. A bit of chocolate and molasses. Rich, chewy dark malt with little roasting. Big, chewy malt flavor and mouth. Thick and rich, with caramel and chocolate. Somewhat like a fudge brownie with high carbonation! Rich and delightful just before bed on this autumn evening. Sweet, but balanced by alcohol and tart fruits, plus a tinge of hops. I am quite surprised by this beer’s excellence and complexity.

Dark ruby brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour are very similar. Both are very sweet and have a strong degree of burnt bitterness. Lingering sugary aftertaste.

On tap at Paradise festival Brussels. Smells of model train tracks. Sweet, too boozy, pretty awful in my opinion

Bottled (as Strandjutterbier Mong de Vos, thanks fonefan!). Reddish brown colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some alcohol, quite yeasty notes as well as mild sourness and spices. Flavour is being quite much the same with alcohol being more stinging and aggressive. Yet drinkable, especially with some cheese along with it.
