Commercial Description:
Old belgian witbier recipe brewed with belgian brewmasters Pol Ghekiere (La Vieille Forge) and Christian Bauweraerts (Achouffe). Brewed from 3 different malts (Barley, wheat and oat) plus a bit of rice. Spiced with bitter orange and lemon peel. A thirst quenching, creamy witbier with a citrus tang.

(Rating #2594)

My Bottom Line:
This spicy Witbier showcases lots of cereals and citrusy spices, as rice peers through its herbal bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy blond.
-Orange rinds aplenty work in making the plump body more quenching.
-The mouthfeel is a little bulkier than the usual Witbier, but I like that.
-Carbonation is active, but well calculated with the size of the residual sugars.

On tap at the brewpub.

A lightly hazed blonde wit with a thin white head. Aroma of bananas, allspice, cinnamon bread, citrus, cloves. In mouth, a classy and funky wit with bananas, mint, intense cloves, a bit of chcik pea and basmati rice. Light to medium bodied. On tap at brewpub August 3 2009.
