Pours a murky, tarnished golden-tan color; murky, off-white head, patchy lacing. Lots of earthiness, citrus, and basic maltiness in the aroma; dulled from age. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of complex malt sugars; earthy hop bitterness, and light amounts of caramel oxidation; old at this point; lightly oxidized, candy sugar, lots of earthienss; hidden alcohol, but far gone. Lengthy finish: sugar, earthy hop bitterness, lasting bitter notes; a touch rough. Butters (1650), Virginia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Bottle: The aroma is moderately fruity with some mango and hints of peach. There’s also some light-moderate grapefruit and a hint of cotton candy. It pours a cloudy dull yellowish-orange with a quarter inch yellow tinged head that lasts a minute or so. The flavor starts moderately fruity with mango, cotton candy, and faint peach. The finish has lots of citrus hops that leaves a lot of grapefruit lingering in the aftertaste. It borders on full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly and syrupy and sticky mouthfeel. A very good IIPA, but the cotton candy flavor and aroma seems a little out of place. tdtm82 (16), Essex, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Intense aroma of spices, citrus, orange peel and a musty perfome edge. Taste of citrus hops, grapfruit, spices and raisens or figs. Gogeous orange colour. Coppy orange thick colour very dark almost red like at the base.
Extremely hoppy. low in head and mesmerising finish. Medium to full mouth feel in the long term. One to savour after every sip. Swirl round and the smooth edge comes through. Initially incredibly sharp but smooth on the tongue after a good swirl. Very malty and also dry. Alcohol content is warming. Not a session beer.
Recommend. Poured from 75cl bottle into a small goblet. Use goblet to expose the flavours. Seek out. Thank you Beer Merchants.com for selling this. thebeertourist (2793), Oslo, Norway
