Sweet and fruity, some corander. Near full bodied with mushy, swampy mouthfeel, lots of syrup and burning alcohol finish. Reminiscent of cheap, fruity super strong lagers... A slightly hazy amber color body with a medium sized off white head , medium carbonation , some spotty lacing left . Aroma is of sweet orange and coriander maybe a hint of peppercorns .Flavor is very sweet , mostly orange with some very sweet honey and coriander flavors with a hint of alcohol on the finish , some yeasty fruit notes and a bit of yeast . Full body with a creamy mouthfeel . A little too sweet to be sessionable but I found it to be quite enjoyable and good . jzzbassman (846), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Hazy golden pour. Big alcohol aroma, with a bit of spice. Very hot alcohol, with some orange and curry powder. A bit of a novelty, but not one I’d go back to very much. jodah52 (50), Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Decent. Pretty drinkable, for a light beer this heavy. Light amber color, thin foam. Sweet aroma of barley and wheat malt, touch of citrus. A candylike flavor predominates; it is pleasant, and keeps you drinking. Past that, the heavy mouthfeel and great sweetness of this brew keep you to one glass. Good, interesting; don’t get it too often. Braudog (3759), Dayton, Ohio, USA

And the aroma is more sweet than spicy, so right off the bat this is proving to be atypical for style. I guess this where the "imperial" comes in -- this beer delivers with an oomph not normally associated with a "wit" beer -- an almost alcoholic kick underlies what would otherwise be a sweet malty brew. There is but a mere hint of some blood orange lurking well beneath the surface here, but in a blind taste test I’d never peg this one. But I like it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Clear amber color with a off white head. dark caramel, spicy sweet aromas. Heavy sweet caramel malty flavors with yeasty sweet hawaiian bread, not much wit spices here. joeneugs (324), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Pours orange with a huge, creamy, creamsickle colored head. The aroma is very sweet and marshmellowy with fruit and spice. The flavor is syrupy sweet with low carbonation. Caramel, sugar syrup, and orange stand out. Not horrible, it does have a big flavor, which is good. I just don’t think this works very well.
