troyc (1046), Lubbock, Texas, USA Dec 3, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a light brown color with a small head. Plenty of malt in the aroma. Heavy caramel and sweet nut in the taste. Slightly heavier mouthfeel when compared to other beers of this style. Moderate carbonation level. Dry finish, with light metallic and astringent notes mixed in with the sweetness. Not too bad. eaglefan538 (2141), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle courtesy of theisti. Pour was standard for the style, lacing and head only mediocre, though. The aroma was toasted caramel and light saazy grass. The flavor was pretty dry, overall somewhat light, featuring saaz-grass type hops and light toasted caramel. Carbonation was ample. Thanks, Tim! JaBier (239), Capital City, Ohio, USA Nov 28, 2008 Pours a copper color, no head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and caramelly. A hint of hop up front, sweet and sugary on the back end. Decently balanced, but finishes rather thin, as I have experienced with a few other Schlafly beers. Average brew. nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Oct 28, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber/orange with a one finger off white head. Aroma of slight caramel. Flavor was nutty, with a very slight spicy finish. ericandersnavy (261), denton, Texas, USA Oct 27, 2008 bottle thanks to gregis. poured a clear orange with a thin white head. i guess i didnt pick up anything in the aroma that other people did. what i did pick up was some skunk, cow farm, after that managed to get some malt. flavor seemed just a tiny bit of caramel not much else i could pick up anyway. very watery. i believe this may be the worst ofest i have had to date.
