Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. This bottle I picked up almost three years ago I reckon. Then I stored it in my closet or under the bed, so it was definitely ready. Pours clear amber with a frothy, white head. Some tangy, aged fruits on the nose. Light sweet flavor with further tangy fruits, faint wood, berries, tart apple. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tangy, ripened fruits to finish. Not bad.

275 ml bottle thanks to larsniclas! On February 4, 2011
Hazy copper color, small white head. Strawberry at first, then mostly acidic to sour lactic like scent. Thin, malty, stale tsate. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.
In a blind tasting I would have guessed it was a lambic or a gueze on that smell! And a good one too... Too dark in color for most of those though. But for a BW I guess it should not smell like that... Well, my high score for the smell is for the wonderful lambic like aroma though, I like that! Even if it perhaps shouldn’t be like it, still works for me...

(Bottle) Pours muddy orange brown. The aroma is buttery and light spicy from the oak alongside a clear sourish tone. Dry cracker-like malt. The flavour is LIght to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic. Mild oak and resinous, light fruity and spicy hops. The malt is too laidback for a BW. The mouthfeel is tart and a bit watery. Light carbonated. Oak in the finish. Medium bodied.

Mill Green Good Ship Arbella
Cask gravity at Colchester BF 2011. Gold thin white head. Sticky syrupy American hop aroma. Bit too syrupy and sweet on the hops I think. I had this next to the Harwich Town APA which was better. Not a huge difference in ABV but this is too sweet and syrupy whilst the Harwich Town was light and agile. Hops on this are ok but too sweet

Hand pulled cask at the Egham BF. Amber/gold with a white head and good lacework. A good crack at an APA but a little sweet at first. However, the US hops soon catch up with you and the overall impression led me to a second half. A very sound beer indeed.
