Sickly yeasty aroma (on cask). In the bottle, was nice and malty, not too hoppy aroma. Generally sweet and a bit nutty. Lingering herbal hop aftertaste. Good.

Very, very pale. Any paler and it would be water. Not a huge aroma and the initial flavour is a sourness which mellows into gentle dry malt. Not over-blessed with flavour or finish but this is nonetheless a pleasant and refreshing beer with no real vices.

Wye Valley Dorothy Goodbody’s Wholesome Stout
Dark brown color. Medium carbonation. Very weak aromas of chocolate, minerals, generic yeast smell. Dry palate with coffee, herbal bitterness, and a burned finish. A bit of fruitiness as it warms up. Not incredibly complex. Surely drinkable, but not special.

New best bitter from this brewery, tasted at GBBF (cask conditioned). Loose, coarse, off-white head over a deep peach blonde beer, lightly hazy. Pleasantly fruity aroma, hints of peach, pineapple and red apple peel, flowers, biscuit, something sweet sherry-like; sweetish fruity and caramelly taste, malty, with creamy, soft mouthfeel, a tad nutty in the middle, nicely balanced with elegant floral hop bitterness in the finish. Decent bitter.
