Nose is moderately floral and light citrus. Very hazy like a hefe. Taste is more sweet than hop flavor. Very floral like potpourri. Moderate bitterness lingers like grass

Very nice hop aroma. Amarillo and Nelson Sauvin are really hard to beat. Sweet light toast malt backs up those hops in the flavor.

Nice light roast. Clear cola brown body. This really isnít as big as Iíd think from a doppelbock. Tastes more like a schwarzbier.

5 Seasons Westside Foggy Mountain IPA 3.5
Appearance: Heavily clouded, pale milky orange-gold body with a seafoam spray head.

Smell: Fruity touches of papaya, pineapple and grapefruit supported by floral, resiny tones.

Taste: Meagerly malty, just a slice of white bread given a fine dusting of powdered sugar for a hint of sweetness. Pureed tropical fruitiness. Moderate degree of bitterness. Tropical fruitiness and citrus sustained on the softly creamy, lightly yeasty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation. Overall, a soft mouthfeel.

Overall: A decent brew.

5 Seasons Westside Rosebudís Milk Stout 4.3
Pours opaque coffee sable with a nice tan head. aroma presents milk chocolate, roast malt and quality coffee. Flavor delivers all that the aroma promises, and adds nutty and subtle molasses tones to the mix. Mouthfeel features good body and fizz, not as rich as the best stouts but more than adequate. Milk it for all itís worth.

5 Seasons Westside Scottish Stout 2.6
On tap @ 5 Seasons Westside. Cola colored beer with an off-white head. Roasty malts and a lot of cherry cough drops. Woody, charred wood, grape soda, and tea. Kind of just meh roasty, bitter, sugar water. Nothing here really worth revisiting.

On tap @ 5 Seasons Westside. Slightly hazed amber colored beer with white foam. Super harsh solvent and alcohol. A lot of green apple in there, too. Sweet and sugary...even syrupy. Watery and astringent on the tongue as well. Kind of a gasoline tinge, too. No thanks.

On tap @ 5 Seasons Westside. Darker brownish colored beer with off-white foam. Roasty and toasty malts. Quite a lot of molasses and maple character. A bit of dark fruits, some char, and a hint of chalk. Tea leaf astringency on the palate, but not too bad. Okay enough beer, I guess...

On tap @ 5 Seasons Westside. Pale, hazed yellow colored beer with short lived white foam. Lemony character with a bunch if cracker and rice sort of notes to it. A good bit of grassy character as well. Easily one of the best gluten free beers Iíve had. Kind of lemonade and tea-like. Refreshing.

5 Seasons Westside Golden Ale 3.3
On tap @ 5 Seasons Westside. Clear golden straw colored beer with white foam. Just a rather light beer all the way through. Itís got a decent bit of citrus peel and some grassy hops. Light bitterness, a bit of sweet grain, and just a hint of yeast. Itís not great, but easy drinking and not flawed.

5 Seasons Westside Stuart Rankin Ale 3.6
Pours semi-transparent chestnut with a nice fine-bubbled buff head. Strong atom tempts with caramel, roast malt, horehound and dark fruit notes. Flavor rolls toasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, and subtle hoppy and horehound tones across the palate. Body is fair to middliní, but fizz is firm and lasting. Rankiní good!

5 Seasons Westside Molasses Porter 3.9
Pours warm coffee brown with a thin but serviceable buff head. Smoky aroma presents a definite molasses tone, plus roast malt and hints of chocolate. Roast malt and molasses lead the flavor, while chocolate and earthy and even hoppy notes co-star. Body is thin for a porter, but fizz is strong and persistent. Move your asses for molasses!

Pours hazy, barely translucent dark honey golden with a thick eggshell head. Aroma presents strong orange and lemon notes, as well as resiny hops and fresh malt. Flavor bursts with evergreen hops and citrus fruit, fairly but not fiercely bitter, plus a malty undertone. Mouthfeel features firm body and decent but lasting fizz. Beer lovers of Georgia, UNITE!

Great nose - sweet, leathery, malty, dark fruit. Mature, pretty balanced, not overly sweet, a little dusty/earthy. Vanilla notes. Moderately acidic. Deep auburn brown. On tap, 5 Seasons North. Thanks Uncle Doug.

Interesting beer. Darker than expected. Brown ale dark. Along with the expected hoppy and malty flavor, a slightly acid funk that seems intentional.

5 Seasons Westside Mr. Pattinsonís Scottish IPA 3.6
This one is kind of weird and I think itís the East Kent Golding used at this level. Floral, very fruity yeast type aromas mingle to make a beer that smells like it should be tart, but isnít.

5 Seasons Westside Buck Beer 4.1
Appearance: Served up a near-clear, golden-orange body with half an inch of froth up top.

Smell: Traditional German malts, lightly sweetish and bready with a hint of orchard fruits, yeast. The French Oak, though subtle, provides some welcome oaky elements.

Taste: Bready, gently toasty malts layered in sweetish golden honey. Fruity accents of apple and pear. Soft, mild yeastiness. Minor hop hint pairs with the little bit of oak tannin shining through. Modest touch of alcohol. Small kiss of vanilla showing on the smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Smooth yet crisp!

Overall: Very good stuff, here. Iím saddened it really just came and went in a hurry.

5 Seasons Seeing Dubbel Aged in Madeira Barrels 3.5
March Ale Alpharetta. Flat mahogany pour. Big sweet wine component, vinous, aged grapes, plums, raisins. Due to the already sweet nature of a dubbel, the madeira barrel only adds to this. To be shared in company as a dessert type beer. Interesting.

5 Seasons Seeing Dubbel Aged in Madeira Barrels 3.6
Bomber from Crawford. Pours clear brown, with no heal head. Very vineous, with a character similar to port. Notes of caramel, brown bread, cherries and cardamom. Flavor is very sweet with no balancing bitterness, or even any sourness. Medium body, sharp, effervescent, and decadent. This is an overly sweet beer, but still quite nice.

5 Seasons Westside Elmerís Gluten Free Beer 3.7
Pours clear dark golden Amber with a substantial ivory head. Aroma is not strong, but has tempting fruity and hay notes. Fruiy flavor is almost more cider than beer, but pleases with sorghum and subtle caramel tones. Finally, a gluten-free beer that is good to drink! Texture is firm, fizzy and pleasing. I knew that someday I would find a GF beer I liked!

5 Seasons Westside Foggy Mountain IPA 4.3
Pours barely translucent honey-golden with a substantial pale buff head. Resiny hops dominate the aroma but let malt and grapefruit notes share the osmic stage. Flavor is seriously hoppy, resiny yet scarcely bitter, with malty and citrus underpinnings and a snip of evergreen. Thick, firm texture has fizz to spare. Enjoy, but if you do get foggy, please call a cab.

On tap at the brew pub. Deep brown with khaki head. Dissipates quickly, minimal lacing. Delicious aroma - code, roast, vanilla, lactose. Mostly sweet taste with a distinct transition to a bitter finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Nice coffee stout.

5 Seasons Westside 5A Pale Ale 4.2
Appearance: Pours a hazed, pale orange-hued body with a slim coating of an off-white head.

Smell: A bit bready, a bit biscuity with soft albeit inviting scents of citrus, florals and pine.

Taste: As with the nose, 5A runs the fine line between being both bready and biscuity given a few bready drops of sweet golden syrup. Citrusy, hops with lemon and orange, but also allowing some soft floral, piney touches. Just lightly bitter. Remains citrusy on the decidedly crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: An enjoyable, greatly drinkable pale ale.

Bold, hoppy flavor rolls evergreen and citrus notes across the palate, while a hint of sweet malt makes its subtle mark. Texture is firm and lively, leaving an evergreen finish with just a snip of bitterness. Solid gold!

5 Seasons Westside Joeís Espresso Milk Stout 3.7
Had a mini pint of this when stopping in after a Hop City visit. Pours dark brown to black with a small khaki head. Big spicy espresso coffee aroma with a bit of roast and lactose. Flavor follows with lots of spicy roasty coffee, roasted grains, sweet lactose sugar, a little chocolate. Light to medium bodied in the style, medium plus carbonation. Definitely a nice milk stout here. Worth trying.

5 Seasons Westside Seeing Dubbel 3.4
Served in a tulip glass at the brewpub in Feb. 2012 (from notes). Pours.hazy dark, reddish-brown, with a thin and short-lived tan head. Fruity and a bit boozy, with malt and a touch of yeast in the background. Taste to is fruity, south plenty of plum and a light spiciness. M: a tad thin but near medium body with god carbonation. O: True to style, but lacks the richness and the complexity of a great Belgian dubbel. A nice, enjoyable version nonetheless.

5 Seasons Westside Mayan Coffee Stout 3.9
[From Dec. 2011 notes] arrived in a pint glass with a 1-finger dark tan head. The head had limited retention but left a lasting ring; no lacing left, however. Plenty of good coffee flavor in both the aroma and the taste ... Not as strong in terms of coffee, however, as Kona Pipeline Porter or Pisgah Valdez Stout. The coffee is well balanced with flavorful dark roasted malts, and there is a bit of spicy hops here too. Mildly bitter with a bit of sweetness. M: medium body; notable heavier than, say, a typical Irish stout. Slightly dry. Very smooth. O: a very fine coffee stout, with plenty of coffee flavor.

chinchill
5 Seasons Westside Centennial IPA 3.8
[From March 2012 notes] Pint served at the brewpub. ABV reported at about 6.8% by the bartender. A: slight hazy; darkish amber with a durable head that leaves a rather full coat of lacing on the glass. Aroma: Centennial hops with a substantial malt backbone. T: hop/malt balance is a bit higher in tasting than in smelling. Likewise, this beer is more bitter than the aroma suggests, and at least as bitter as an average beer of this style. O: not sure, but i think this is a single hop brew. Perhaps not quite up to Founders IPA of the same name (from memory), but that is a high standard and this IPA is still easily recommended.
