Roanoke Railhouse Track 1 Amber Lager
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a medium dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is big on malt with some hops and maybe some grain tossed in. The flavor is slightly odd with a nice mild hop bite, it grew on me with each sip. Overall, a pretty good beer.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is hazy golden yellow color with a huge white head. The aroma is of yeast and a hint of banana. The taste is slightly sweet with plenty of malt and fruit with a cocoa and yeast blend at the end. Overall, a good beer and a nice representation of a Belgian Pale Ale.

on tap @ Railhouse Brewing / Roanoke VA --- Clear dark amber color, white head cover, stripes of lace. Taste is caramel malt that is able to hold on against floral hops. Both move easily to a smooth medium-length finish. A decent conventional brew.

on tap @ Railhouse Brewing / Roanoke VA --- Clear light amber with a white rim head, thin stripes of lace. Taste is wheat and malt with light spices, notable coriander, which becomes fizzy and very lightly hoppy on the swallow. Just another basic brew - nothing wrong here, but also nothing that makes it stand out.

Roanoke Railhouse Broken Knuckle IPA
Draft at the brewery This is an English style IPA. The IPA poured a cloudy light amber color. The hop bitterness is deceptive. The ale had a medium body with average carbonation. There was lingering bitterness at the finish. This was the best of the beers, bu they ran out and I could not fill a growler.

Roanoke Railhouse Broken Knuckle IPA
Transfer from BA review on 10-20-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance Ė Pours a deep amber-orange color with a one finger white head that fades relatively fast to leave a persistent film and a decent level of lacing. Smell Ė The aroma is mainly a mix of sweet tangerine and grapefruit hop. Mixed with these aromas are some notes of an earthy hop aroma as well as some caramel smell. Taste Ė A slightly sweeter bready flavor meets the tongue with a very light pine taste present as well. Quickly some flavors of a more citrus nature enter the taste. At the forefront they are more tangerine in nature, but as the taste advances more grapefruit hop enters the taste. In the end a rather satisfying blend of sweet, bread and hop are left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer is on the just above side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. Rather nice for the hoppy flavors but yet still very drinkable and refreshing with the moderate level of carbonation. Overall ĖA rather easy drinking and yet tasty brew with a good balance between bready, sweet and hop.

Pours a cloudy gold color, almost no head, mild malt aroma, some banana. Tastes - sweet initially w/ fruit notes (pear, banana, grape), then gets some funk and almost a little dill and some citrus on finish. Crisp finish and would go great w/ a sandwich w/ pickles or vinegar.

Bomber from Kroger. Pours medium amber with a small off-white head. Smells of grapefruit, apricot, pine, and light malt. First sip: honey, grapefruit, and leaves. Second sip: more of the same with the addition of a gluey malt. This is interesting.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a nice amber color with a medium off white head. The nose is light in the hops department with a little citrus. The tongue confirms what the nose was thinking. This ainít no IPA. Pale ale perhaps. Orange zest and light honey notes on the palate. Light to medium body with a short finish. Weak for an IPA, but not a bad brew.

Total Wine: Pours a ruby/amber color with a beige head. Aroma is caramel malt and sugar. Taste is toffee, some ambiguous fruitiness, and a bit of underlying hops. I thought something was off in the body. Tastes kind of like homebrew in my opinion.

Roanoke Railhouse Broken Knuckle IPA
Crisp amber coloured body with a brightish copper glow and a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, light earth, a hint of grapefruit and citrus hops and a bit of caster sugars as well. Medium-bodied; Very resinous hop flavour at first with some pine sneaking in, but the malt is well balanced and showing well at the end with a lot of sweetness, especially for the style. Aftertaste shows more hops than malt and a bit of sweetness at the end, but no real complexity or unique flavours. Overall, a decent IPA, but without a large hop presence and anything unique at all, this is simply passable and not worth finding. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Wegmanís in Sterling (Dulles), Virginia on 03-May-2013 for US$5.49 sampled at home in Washington on 30-May-2013.

Cloudy, golden body with a head that leaves in a hurry. The aroma is mild. A little bit of spice, a little bit of an herbal/fruit kind of thing, too. The flavor is pretty mild. Thereís a bit of citrus and hops, and the malt is buttery, but the finish is very watery and not very full. Not bad, but not something Iíll get again.

Clear light orange, slight head. Aroma lightly of baked grapefruit and floral perfume, has that powdery character. Flavor is at first light caramel, followed by a hop finish that resembles the aroma. Not bad, but it simply didnít appeal to me. Seemed a bit thin somehow. I just wanted more everything - should also note that it wasnít my favorite hop profile.

Roanoke Railhouse Loose Caboose Imperial Lager
A little cloying and sweet, there was something strange going on with this. Carbonation was rather low and the mouthfeel (boy, I hate that word!) was syrupy and sticky. Slight alcoholic burn with diacetyl present. Almost tasted like a microbrewed version of a Malt Liquor, which I guess isnít really that far from the style, but certainly nothing Iíd want to drink on a regular basis. Almost seems like it was fermented too warm. On a side note, I donít think the brewers were too happy with it, because itís vanished from the store shelves and their website.
