3.9 Flying Dog Triple Dog Medium sized tan head, good retention with a thin spotty lace. Bright deep copper colored brew, very attractive. Nose is booze, faint pineapple and cognac. Mouthfeel is thick, rich, oily and full, tiny bit of carbo, sorta luxurious on the palate. Lotsa alcohol flavor, some rubbing, distilled and surprisingly a hint of pineapple with some grainy notes and some medium sweet caramel malts. Lightly sweet and weirdly juicy on the palate with mildly sweet and boozy finish. A interesting brew that would do well in a oak barrel I do believe. Velvety, very velvety, creamy, strong boozy undertow but well concealed, but DARK CHOCOLATE, liquorice, aniseed, coffee, dark fruits. After taste is bitter. Not sure why Gonzo? 2 Flying Dog Hare Chaser Bottle pale yellah clear. Mild grapefruit nose backed by hint of hop flower perfume. Bitter, but not as bitter as I was expecting. I guess the grapefruit kindah mellows it out a little. In the middle, the bitter bite does seem to set in a little. Higher alky not as apparent in this brew.
