Liverpool Organic 24 Carat Gold
Cask conditioned at The Philharmonic, Liverpool. Gold with white head. There is a sweet hopped character to this, fruity, sweet citrus notes, lemonade. Light on the palate, quite refreshing. It’s fine.

500ml bottle, chilled, poured into a pint glass at home. Cloudy dark brown colour with minimal tan head, looks like chocolate in a glass; chocolate, coffe and roasty nose; bitter taste; milk chocolate with a hint of caramel palate leading to a bitter finish. Not bad, but given the reviews I was expecting more.

Butelka 500ml. Czarne o szczatkowej brazowej pianie. Aromat kawy czekolady lukrecji i palonych cukrow. W smaku podobnie . Kawa i czekolada. Alkohol w tle nie przeszkadza. Po glebszym zastanowieniu stwierdzam ze w glebi wyczuc mozna lekki zapach kuwety lub moczu. Ogolnie ok ale wrazenie zapachowe psuje powyzsze.

Liverpool Organic Empire Ale
Cask. Pours reddish brown with no head to speak of. Aroma biscuity with some dark fruit. Tastes better than it look although there’s a flat end of barrel air to it. But the malts are toasted and the plum notes are modestly there.

Liverpool Organic Jade
Cask conditioned at the Wellington, Birmingham. Gold with white head. There is an initial fusty, damp note to this which luckily doesn’t last too long on the palate. Sweetness comes through, quite fruity, plummy notes, thinnish palate. Just okay really.

Liverpool Organic Liverpool Stout
Cask. Pours dark with ruby tints in the light. Aroma is caramel and cough drops. Tastes more s yr ongly if smoked roasted malts and yes a hint of pepper at the end. Given the weight on the palate if someone had called it porter rather than stout I wouldn’t have noticed.

Liverpool Organic Jade
Cask. Pours pale amber with gold lights. Scent of fruits and icing sugar The taste has fruit and malt in better balance for a bitter but the hoppy fruits predominate and for me at least there was a hint of bubbly gum in the first mouthful but thereafter the bitterness grows so the aftertaste is definitely bitter.

Cask. Pours straw gold with thin top broken lacing. Aroma fruity hoppy but no real elderflower here. Taste is smooth and soft with the elderflower evident. No bitter finish for me but easy drinking and that is enough of a tribute to Josephine.

Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe. Pale gold with a moderate white head and a middling fizz. Superb cask condition on this, who needs kegs?! Tropical fruit and lemon aroma. On tasting there was light pine and lemon with some grass and just a touch of grubbiness in the mildly bitter finish. Went down pretty easily. Decent brew overall.

500ml bottle conditioned: BB Dec 2015. Drank at home on 25th Sep 2015 during a random tasting evening I had with myself. Deep, dark brown bodied brew, the sediment joined the glass, so it was a little ’murky’, the top off-white and slowly fading to a wisp and collar with slight lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and malted barley. The taste was also dark chocolate and malty, slightly burnt, smoky feel to the flavours. Expected a smoother, richer palate to the brew to be honest, this was OK but lacked depth and discernment.
