Manchester Cream Stout
44 cl can @ home. Rated on 05.03.2010
Aroma is quite roasted with coffee and some semi‐dark chocolate. Flavour is smooth with chocolate and sugary notes. Finishes somewhat dry with coffee. A positive surprise.

Hos Rune’s 16 Sep 10. Boks 0,44l fra K/Marked, Rovaniemi. Dyp rød – nesten sort. Høyt, pent kremskum. Røstet malt dominerer aromaen. Smaken er søt brent malt. Litt sjokolade. Behagelig. En god stout.

500ml can, thanks to Finn for sharing. Good looking with its black body containing ruby shades. Decent light brownish head lacing the glass. Smell of lacteal chocolate malts. Creamy chocolate malts in flavour with a modest support of bitter roastiness. Gets quite sweet, but still well worth drinking (Tromsø, 16.09.2010).

Can. A red-brown beer with brown head. The aroma has notes of metal, malt - both sweet and roasted, and a bit of nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and a bit of wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

(Canned, sampled 2009-10-03) Very dark brown with a small, firm, beige head. Roasted-malty, slightly lactose-sweet nose with coffee. Roasty flavor with some burnedness, sweetish, low bitterness. Almost medium body, yet slightly thin and softly carbonated. A decent supermarket stout (Finnish term) in its straightforward style.

0.44 l can from K-Supermarket Länsiväylä, Jyväskylä. Opaque dark brown color with creamy head. Mild fruity and roasty aroma with notes of coffee. Dry roasty and coffeish flavor. The palate is initially smooth, then turning into bitter and slightly astringent finish. Good drinkable and balanced stout. Pleasant firm and dry taste.

0.5l can from Helsinki. No real brewer noted, eh. Poured a very dark red, almost black body with a grey medium sized head, thick and initially cascading nicely. Creamy, chocolatey nose, ending slightly sourish. Light chocolatey maltiness ending in sourish. Not all that bad, relatively pleasant, but this isn’t really my style. Wonder who brews this.

44cl can. Pitch black with a craemy cappucino head. Nose is dry and burned, some coal, roasty coffee beans and raisins. Flavor has mostly coal like burned maltiness, moderate bitterness, hints of coffee beans and tar. Nearly medium bodied, nicely smooth palate without a freaking widget. Straightforward dry stout, but all the more enjoyable.

Very dark, creamy beige head. Lovely rich burnt and roasted malt aroma - like agood Irish dry stout. Pleasant carbonation, dryish palate. Rich roasted taste, fairly dry. Hopping low, mostly almost chocolatey burntness providing the bitterness (which makes it more akin to traditional Scottish styles). Maybe I was thirsty, but I enjoyed every drop.

Canned (from K Citymarket Rauma). Very deep rubyish black colour with mediumsized creamy brown head, nice lace. Aroma is mild roasted malts, some coffee, vegetables and mild chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts with mild notes of coffee and also some slight grassy notes. Finish has some dark chocolate as well. Get better as it warms up a bit.
