Gangstergafje	3.2 Peelander Dubbel 15-07-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in The Netherlands; had it as Druzige Aaltje Zeeuwsch Dubbel Abdijbier). The looks of the beer aren’t bad. The beer has a nice ruby red/brown colour and has a nice unfiltered cloudiness. On top of the beer a nice light brown layer of soft foam is formed. Foam retention is fine. The smell of the beer is nice. Not worlds strongest smelling beer, but definitely not bad. I smell some nice malts. There are aromas of biscuits, some almonds, caramel and a hint of liquorice. Nice, and appropriate for a dubbel. There is a also a nice herbal touch of hops. Not bad. The taste is a bit more simple. Some rough malts, with some almond, caramel and liquorice and some bitter hops, with a herbal touch. There is a slight fruity kind of sourness, that is a bit out of place. Not completely balanced because of that. Palate is not special. Medium body, bit sticky and thin, rather low carbonation. Finish is rather short and contains only some malts and alcohol. All in all, not the best Abbey Dubbel around, but slightly above average. Saturday, July 15, 2017
Gangstergafje	3.4 Peelander Tripel Drunk the beer as: Pittige Jette Zeeuwsch Trippel Abdijbier. Should be the same. The looks of the beer are fine for this type of beer. The color of the beer is a nice yellow color, with a golden touch. The beer has a nice silky cloudiness. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, white foam is formed. The majority of the foam collapses within seconds. A thin drape is left after some time. The smell of the beer isn’t bad. It is not that strong, and also not that special. It sure ain’t bad though. I smell some smells that remind me of Belgian trippel. Some malty touches, not that many clear hop aroma’s (but a tiny freshness that can be from the hops), and clear yeast aroma’s. The yeasts are quite Belgian to me. The yeast aroma’s are a bit leaf like, a bit herbal. Not bad. The taste of the beer is nice. Pretty much the same as the smell. Nice malty flavors, some hoppy freshness and a nice yeasty flavour. The beer has some nice sweets, for a tripel rather malt bitters and a tiny sour touch. Eventhough the bitterness isn’t that strong, the beer is balanced. The palate of the beer is not that special. Medium body, medium high carbonation, smooth. Finish is nice, some warming alcohol and a nice flavour. Pretty nice beer. Friday, April 7, 2017

Gangstergafje	2.8 Peelander Wit The beer has a nice look. The color of be beer is a pale golden yellow. There is a tiny cloudiness. On top is the beer there is a nice layer of soft white foam. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly, to leave a tiny drape of foam. The smell is lovely. It has a great spicy aroma, of coriander, citrus zest, so on. The smell is lovely. There is a nice bitterness, together with a nice hoppy bitterness and a nice sour touch. The taste is lovely. Again the sweetness, bitterness and fresh sourness. It’s very fresh and nice and spicy. Gangstergafje	3.4 Peelander Pilsener The beer has a nice look. The looks are more those of a Belgian blonde than of a pilsener. The beer pours a decent amount of rather rough white foam. The majority of the foam collapses quick, but a nice drape remains. The beer has a nice pale golden yellow color. The beer is a little foggy. You can see trough it, but vision is blurred. The smell of the beer is way better than that of simple pilsener. There is way more depth to it. I smell a normal pilsener layer, with bitter hops and a malty aroma, combined with an additional sweet fruity and floral aroma. There are more and fresher hop aromas than in most pilsener a, giving this beer s more distinguished smell. It smells more like a craft beer, instead of a simple production beer. There is also a nice almondy alcohol aroma in the smell. The taste is very nice. The beer has a good and strong bitterness. This is balanced out by a delicious sweet and delicate flavor, that had touches of strawberry and summer fruits. I also taste some grapefruit. There is also a nice fresh hop sensation in the taste. The beer is quite distinguished and refined. It is way better than most beers that have ’pilsener’ on their label. The palate is nice. There are a lot of tiny gas bubbles tingling the ting nicely. sjorsvdg	3.3 Peelander Framboos Rose Dit frambozenbier heeft een robijnrode kleur en een weinig schuim, dat snel wegtrekt. De geur is zoet-zuur en overduidelijk gevoed door frambozen. De smaak is fris, doch zoet, terwijl er geen suiker aan ’t bier is toegevoegd. Er zijn dus rijpe frambozen gebruikt. Op de achtergrond is hop aanwezig. Erg lekker bier. Tuesday, October 27, 2015
