Bank Hop Lab - Red 3.4
Small (1 or 2 oz.) pour at Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival. Consumed on 2-6-16. Pours a slightly hazy brass with very little head. Pleasant, floral, hoppy smell. Aroma could be stronger. Nice, piney, sharp hoppiness above a pleasant, creamy, malt base in flavor. Orange and grapefruit. Frothy, smooth, silky, and lively in the palate. Not bad at all.

Sour Bomb 3.1
750ml bottle acquired from deyholla. Thanks a bunch, bro. Shared at the Fear Household on NYE. Pours a nice hazy straw hue, a dulled color and mellow lemon cereal hue with subtle glow. Frothy mellow bubbly head stays as a nice mellow ringer, subtle lacing and kick around in small capacity. Aromas are a bit twangy, bready and mellow yogurt meet some punchy metallic and subtle lemony him. Green apple, subtle earth and sweet tart. Mellow, bready. Initial is lighter bodied, a bit flabby with a mellow fizzy carbonation that doesn’t quite do it. Gentle lactic twang, lemon rind and some tart citric appeal. Mellow body, a bit of straw and bready malts. Some tart citric appeal comes on, green apple, subtle tart grapes and earth. Subtle lemonade, earth, yogurt and a metallic punch into that backend anf finifhsm flabby, a bit of stomach acid and earthy finish. Ok. A bit underwhelming and doesn’t quite come together as you’d like. Lacking spritz and punch

Bank Hop Lab - Red 3.4
Bomber dated 11/15, pours a clear pale golden/orange with a large off-white head. Light sweet aroma of tropical hops, pineapple, dried coconut, and caramel malt. Taste has a sweet tropical candy, think tropical skittles, that jabs the palate quick then falls into a papery bitterness to the end. Ok.

Sour Bomb 3.1
Bottle sample at Sioux Falls fest. Listed as "fruit infused sour bomb" without naming the fruit, so hopefully this rating is in the right place. Clear yellow color. Very herbal lemon aroma. Taste is tart citrus. A bit plain, and very tart.

Hop Lab - Blue 3.2
Pours a light golden yellow, with minimal head. Floral aroma with a lot of malt character. Flavor is very sweet, almost too much so, with some floral, pine hops, though limited. Too much carbonation and rather thin finish for an IPA.

Sour Bomb: Lilikoi 3.6
Autumn Brew Review 2015. Tart and sour, yeast. One of the better sours today. The fruit really brings this out, I get pineapple and quite a bit of it. Crisp and tart. Good.

State Fair 2015 - This was super fresh. Lots of pine in both aroma and taste. Sweet overall, and a little syrupy. Really good.

Hop Bandit 2.8
At the State Fair. Very much to style. Hops are there in the aroma and the flavor, but the malt is significant, making this dry and combined with the hops, mildly bitter. Not particularly dank as they claim, but some mild pine and citrus.

Hop Lab - Yellow 3.9
(bomber) I’m only vaguely familiar with this brewery and have never tried their beers, so I decided to take a flyer on a bottle of this. Pours a clear dark gold color with a medium white head. The aroma is a veritable explosion of grapefruit girded by a kiwi undertone. Some strawberry up in here too that comes off as fruit-snacky. Jiminy Christmas this smells good. Flavor is a couple notches down from the aroma, with the aforementioned strawberry, some ripe mango action, perhaps a smidgeon of green banana, and a bit of golden kiwi. There’s also a little pop of Juicy Fruit gum. The finish is pretty weak here regrettably, with just a semi-bitter note that’s faintly salty and lacks much complexity. Mouthfeel is pretty decent. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Bomber pours a lightly hazy copper/orange with a large off-white head. Sweet tropical fruity hop aroma, pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. Taste similar to aroma, fruity, lack of bitterness. Meh, not bad but not a well rounded IPA.

Pint can pours a hazy pale copper/orange with a medium off-white head. Corn, grain, and caramel malt aroma. Sweet astringent taste of corn, grain, musky caramel malt, with a metallic earthy bitterness. I’ve had worse, even this week, forsure.

750mL bottle pours a golden/copper with a small white head. Resinous tropical hop aroma and caramel malt, sweet. Resinous bitter grassy tropical hops overtake the palate, some underlying caramel malts, dry and bitter to the end with a touch of alcohol on the finish. Not bad.

crown cap 750: Gold pour with thick white head. aroma is yeasty, grainy, some tartness. Flavour is more berliner weisse than sour brown or red which I was expecting...didn’t notice the sub text of tart wheat beer until after opening. Pleasant enough flavour, tart grainy biscuity wheat, lemony citrus. Thought it was alright.

Into the Black 3.5
Pours a dark brown-black with medium-sized, fast dissipating head. Aroma is redolent of hops, chocolate, coffee, malt. Flavor has some notes of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit (raisin/plum), and piny hops. Also, quite a pronounced alcohol flavor that becomes more prominent as the beer warms. Pretty good offering in this category.

1876 Rye Ale 1.2
Don’t know who sent me this garbage juice, but holy hell is it shitty. Pours a clear orange-red with little to no head. Aromas of sticky sweet caramel and pine sap. Taste is sugar, light bitterness. Flavors of yesterday’s dumpster juice warmed over. Sweet puke. Finishes on a note of holy shit, the brewer doesn’t know what the hell he is doing. No. No. No.

Rooster Lager 2.4
12 oz. bottle from Atom. It pours a muddy brown color with no head. Looks pretty still. The aroma has some caramel, bread and maybe some raisins. Kind of like raisin bread or fruitcake. The flavor is similarly sweet with more raisin, caramel, walnuts. The carbonation is low and the finish is much too sweet and less than pleasant with some dough and residual sugars. To be honest, this reminds me of some of the cheap dark lagers from Russia. (yes I’m looking at you Baltika) Meh.

Longbeard Winter Wheat Lager 3.2
Bottle. Very dark pour, fairly thick looking. Beige head. Sweet caramel, a touch of rye, a bit of fig. Not really sure what they were targeting with this one - bottle says winter wheat, style says dark lager, and it plays more like a sweet porter. But not bad.

Longbeard Winter Wheat Lager 3.4
This is surprisingly solid for the $.99 I paid for the bottle. Black, and low carbonation. Light lager yeast aroma with grain. Flavor has raisin, wood, and sweet malt with figs. Very much a winter beer, and not bad at all. Finish of roasted malt.

1876 Rye Ale 3
12oz bottle with an overly aggresive pour is clear brown/orange in color with a small khaki head. Aroma has rye spice with deep caramel and cocoa malts balanced nicely with floral hops. Taste has rye spice and the rest is pretty flat malts and empty hops. Interesting aroma but boring flat taste and carbonation, not horrible though.
