2 Chameleon Ryediculous IPA Call it retired, call it an alias, call it whatever, but the Milwaukee County Traveling Beer Garden in Franklin, WI, tonight was peddling a Sprecher Ryediculous IPA and this is the only location available to rate it. And that rating, unfortunately, ain't pretty. Well, I should say that this is a nice looking beer with very generous lacing that lasts throughout the time drinking the beer, but the taste is quite harsh and dry with nothing pleasant to report in the aroma or body. Perhaps allow it to slink back into retirement? Saturday, June 10, 2023

1.8 Chameleon Hop on Top Perfectly clear and copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head on top. Aroma of grain, caster sugar, light fruit, malt and some subdued fruit. Light to perhaps Medium-bodied; Stale and horribly cardboardie malt flavours dominate at first with a grassy and herbal note, but more of the funky and off-tasting malts than anything else with a lot of the fruit-based or fake caster sugar notes that don't leave quickly. Aftertaste shows the funky and odd fruit-based sweetness and malt notes and a touch of the grassy and citrusey perhaps 'hop' characteristics that shows no bitterness, just some funk and a touch of complexity on the sweetness front. Overall, a pretty bad beer overall with no depth or flavours in the realm of anything close to a Pale Ale or with hops added, but this is funky and yeastie, bready and too simplistic altogether. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from GlenRo Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 28-November-2018 for US$1,00. Sunday, February 24, 2019

1.9 Chameleon Ryediculous IPA This was dirty and very bitter. Too bitter to get past and notice any subtly or complexity at all. I did not enjoy drinking this. I generally like rye character, but this was a miss. Wednesday, December 7, 2016

1.6 Chameleon Hop on Top A middling IPA. Sweeter than I would’ve expected and it has a surprisingly malt forward body. The hops come across muted and stale. Saturday, September 24, 2016

3.4 Chameleon Ryediculous IPA Light amber color with a smaller light ecru head. Aromas of mild caramel, with hints of rye and spice. Flavors again with the caramel, but a little rye and some orange citric hops. A decent simple rye pale ale. 2/11 Sunday, July 10, 2016

3 Chameleon Witty Hazy and a few small particles floating about the straw colored liquid. Small diminishing white head. Light tang and hint of spice in the aromas. Fairly sharp citric zest in the front. Fairly dry throughout. Hint of malt and just a dash of coriander in the finish. A nothing to special American wit. 4/10 Wednesday, May 18, 2016

1.4 Chameleon Fire Light Ale Bottle. Pours a pale straw golden with a rapidly dissipating fizzy head. Toasty dry with a metallic finish. Little character. Very fizzy. Less flavor in this than just general unpleasantness. Wednesday, April 13, 2016

3.4 Chameleon Witty Appearance: pours with a smaller white head, the beer is a very hazy average gold color, can see particles floating around in it Aroma: lemon, spice, satsuma, banana Taste: light but pale toasty malt backbone, wheat grain too, not nearly as sweet as most beers in this category, Palate: has a light mouthfeel, slight satsuma sweet aftertaste, lively carbonation Overall: this is a very well executed beer for it's style, most beers like this are too sweet, has a nice wheat backbone with some fruits on the aroma, not very sweet which is nice, highly drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Thursday, January 14, 2016

1.8 Chameleon Fire Light Ale I’m not very familiar with the English Mild Ale style. Perhaps there is a reason why? Earlier Rating: 1/23/2011 Total Score: 2.6 Drank this a week or two ago, wrote down the rating and everything. Meant to record it here when I got home. Once again, that was a week or two ago. Obviously this beer doesn’t leave much of an impression. Saturday, December 19, 2015

3.6 Chameleon Witty Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange amber color with a big billowy white head. The head fades slowly over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a wheat and yeasty smell with a whole lot of banana and clove. Along with these aromas comes smells of coriander and some grass and a little bit of an herbal smell. Taste – The taste begins with a rather drier wheat taste with tons of yeastiness right from the start. There is a little bit of a banana and orange taste right from the start, with the orange sweetness fading as the taste moves forward. Along with orange fading, comes a good deal of clove and coriander, which with the blend of wheat and yeas, and the drying of the taste due to the loss of the sweeter orange, it ends up leaving a drier and thinner wit taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite thin with a carbonation level that is rather average. A little thicker of a carbonation may have been slightly better, with a thicker body accentuating the yeasty and wheat flavors more. Overall it was just OK in feel. Overall- A fairly decent wit overall. It has a nice drier taste with a lot of spice and yeast. The only thing really holding it back is its weak body, but otherwise it is a pretty good brew. 3.4 Chameleon Ryediculous IPA Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a hazy golden-orange amber color with a big billowy white head. The head fades very slowly over time to leave tons of foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew strongest of a grapefruit and yeasty bready smell. Along with these aromas comes smells of coriander and some grass and a little bit of a black pepper Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready flavor mixed with a little bit of a rye bread taste. There is a lighter spice flavor of coriander up front and a lighter yeasty taste, with both of these growing stronger as the taste moves forward. There is a little bit of a tangerine and caramel flavor at the start, which over time fade, and end up leaving a very dry taste on the tongue. With some other hop flavors of a hay and pine nature coming to the tongue at the end, one is left with a dry and decently dank hopped rye flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side for a 6 % rye IPA with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The lower carbonation is rather nice overall, but a little thicker of a body may have been slightly better for the style overall. Overall- A rather nice rye IPA overall. It had a decent blend of dank hop blended with a grapefruit and more malty base. Tuesday, September 1, 2015

2 Chameleon Witty 12 oz bottle A beer from AOPD. The wheat ale poured cloudy gold with very small head that dissipated quickly. No lacing. The wheat beers are just not my style that I enjoy. There is an aroma of lemon peel and coriander. There is some spicy aspects of the taste. The light body beer has soft carbonation. The finish is was soapy and just hard to finish. I am just not a fan of wit beers. Saturday, August 29, 2015

3.3 Chameleon Ryediculous IPA 12 oz bottle Another monthly beer from AOPD for August, but also my 1500th. The IPA poured a cloudy amber with an off white head and lacing. The aroma of floral hops greets you. The taste is more complex with nutty malts and piney hops. The IPA had a medium body with average carbonation. Bitterness rolls into a clean, dry finish for a pleasantly quaffable brew. Thursday, August 27, 2015

1.2 Chameleon Hop on Top Lightly hazed straw color with a moderate white head. Floral and resin aromas. Some husky corn aromas as well (perhaps a bit worty). My first sip has me gasping, OMG. Did I open a can of corn and start drinking the liquid off of the nuggets. Somewhat perfumy. I continue and am looking for any redeeming quality. Woody sap and stale hops. I must not continue. It’s been some time since may last true drain pour. 2/10 Monday, July 27, 2015
