Golden City Lost Keg Barleywine
Clear copper-golden with a thin white foamy ring around the edge of the glass. Delightful stone fruit and English strong ale maltiness, so there’s some raisin and cherry and light cinnamon toast. Smooth flavor with some raisin and date and cherry, but also with a boozy deep English maltiness like a Christmas ale. A little toffee throughout. Pretty nice, tastes boozy but without the burn.

Golden City Stand-Up Double IPA
Draft. Poured deeper amber with a creamy beige head. The aroma picked up nutty and biscuity malts topped by herbal hops. The flavor found sweet caramel and biscuity malts at the core, with a solid dose of buttery character.. mild-moderate, fairly non-descript bitterness around.. finished a touch spicy, again with some butter. Medium-bodied with good carbonation.. some odd stuff in there.

Golden City Centurion Barleywine Ale
From a 22 oz bottle, different label than in your stock photo. Poured into a Caracole Saxo chalice. Pours amber-copper with minimum head and lace...in fact there was barely a fizz when I popped this cap. Minimal carbonation and moderate mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, caramel, sorghum, sweet prunes and raisins. Overall big and rich and sweet...bottle may have lost the appropriate carbonation.

Golden City Legendary Red Ale
On tap at the brewery, GABF week 2014. I did not know exactly what kind of beer this was while drinking it, but i did not think altbier. Mild malt aroma and flavor. Low carbonation, not too heavy on the palate making it easy to drink, but I thought more of a red ale than an alt.

Golden City Stand-Up Double IPA
651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained, ivory head, over a clear, dark amber (SRM 17) body......nose is sweet, with light toffee/caramel notes, pineapple, herbal, grass, light resin, light berries, hints of sherry.....taste is sweet, with treacle notes, pineapple, resin, citron, other candied fruits, hints of sherry, finishing with a moderate, lingering pine, resin bitterness.....mouth feel, heavy of medium body, sticky, alcohol heat present, carbonation adds light acid, and slight creaminess. This is a very, very sweet representation of the style and may be slightly oxidized. The hops and malts are barely able to balance the sweetness. This need major recipe changes, perhaps a decrease in the malts, a change of the hops and yeast. BJCP 6/2/10/4/5

Golden City Lookout Stout
Pint at the brewery. Pours very dark with a tiny tan head. Aroma is roasty and meaty with sweet chocolate coming through. Flavor is malt heavy and roasty, almost smoky even. This beer has huge potential, but a faint yet persistent green apple flavor throws things out of whack. I thoroughly enjoy the malt flavor. Clean this up just a bit and we’d have a winner.
