Moerlein Crimea River 3.7
on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of roasted coffee and malt and raisin. Opaque black color, brown head, sheets of lace. Taste is toasted semi-sweet chocolate malt that moves smoothly through a slightly carbonated swallow to a finish that includes dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, and finally, light hops. A big brew that is light and easy to drink, with well hidden alcohol.

Moerlein Red Hop Mess 3.6
Can from Grocery Outlet via my brother-in-law. Pours amber with and off-white head and decent lacing. Nose of caramel malts and piny hops. Medium body. Flavor funds to the pine hops and some citrus. Bitter finish. Quite good drinking.

Moerlein Big Piney IPA 3.4
12oz can - nose is pine, herbal and wild grass. Label does have some semblance to the Yeti Oatmeal label I have in my fridge right now. Sip is grassier and maltier tan the nose suggested. Itís like a floral sweet candy. ABV is well hidden. donít care for the aftertaste.

Moerlein T-Bird Fresh Hop Harvest Ale 3.5
Sample at The Brewzaa. The beer is a clear pale amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Moerlein Push Reel 3.4
Can: Bubbly gold with a tall, thick, off-white head. Grain, pils malt, grass aroma. Taste is slightly to the sweet side.....the pils malt lacks a little expected bitterness, but the sweetness works.....pretty good..not as crisp as the norm, but solid in body and taste.

DavoleBomb
Moerlein Handlebar Double Stout 3.7
Poured into a perfect pint. Can. 3.75 A: Black color. Two fingers of frothy tan head. Retention is good and a spotty, short ring of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Moderate to heavy roastiness. Toastiness underneath. Layers of caramel, cocoa powder, light chocolate. Fairly dry overall. Not super complex, but smells good enough. 4.0 T: Smells like the nose. Good roastiness, toastiness, caramel, cocoa powder, chocolate. Simple, but elegant. 4.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Very nice creaminess to this. Well done. 4.5 D: Not really what I think about when I think imperial stout, but itís a damn good beer. ★ 645 characters DavoleBomb, Mar 01, 2015

Drjohnrock
Moerlein Incline IPA 3.3
Draft at Wiseguy Lounge at Goodfellas Pizza in OTR. Dark amber hue, good bittersweet nose with nice resin and fruit notes, creamy texture, taste is malt and fruit forward with hops subtle but firm and becoming more prominent as the glass warms. Not the best IPA Moerlein has put out but a pretty good beer.

Panzuriel
Moerlein Eleven/162 3.5
22 oz bottle from the Jungle Jimís eastgate, Cincinnati, OH. Moerlein Eleven/162 is a deeper brown mostly opaque liquid with a good head of mocha bubbles. Nose is medium roasted malt with a hint of sweetness and vanilla. Taste is vanilla aged bourbon notes with medium malt and a good amount of molassess. Body is creamy and full. Finish is just a bit good bitters but also very long with the malt and the creaminess leaving a lasting impression.

Moerlein Bay Of Bengal 3.8
Twelve ounce can bought as part of mix six pack from Dent Kroger, tasted on December 31, 2015. Cloudy orange/yellow hue, big zesty bittersweet nose with lots of citrus, taste features a big malt attack reminiscent off Moerlein OTR Ale but a bit sweeter, tingly hop finish. Very fine brew indeed.

kramer
Moerlein Over-The-Rhine (OTR) Ale 2.9
Bottle. Pours a clear light copper body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is pretty husky and grainy with some sweetness and a light earthy and leafy hoppiness. The flavor is pretty weak, some thin and sweet grainy malt with a minimally bitter floral hoppiness. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering huskiness. Meh, canít say this one has much in the way of positive qualities.

Moerlein Harvest Lager 3
3-4oz sample on tap at Deweyís in Oakley. Bartender tells me that this is a Deweyís exclusive. Pours a clear amber orange color. Thin white head, leaving a few loose dots of lace. Nutty, toasty nose. Kind of bready, peppery flavor. Decent, sort of toasty aftertaste, but not much character to it overall. Medium body. Kind of soft carbonation, mild dry finish. Light to moderate bitter taste, mild sweet, more dry. A decent, toastier, more dry lager.

Chudwick
Moerlein Shiver 3.6
Draft at Mellow Mushroom in Wilder - nose is roast and wouldnít have guessed the chai tea in a million years but would have said potpourri. Sip is chocolate and more obviously chai tea. Interesting combo. I prefer ancho or jalapeŮo peppers but this works to a lesser degree.

Frank
Moerlein Zeppelin Bavarian Style Pale Ale 2.6
This sort of comes off as an overly fruity, overly bitter Pils or something. It is honestly not great. It comes off as a bit harsh and metallic and feels a bit heavy so itís not very drinkable. There are dozens of similar brews that actually taste good in Cincinnati so I donít see myself getting this again.

Moerlein T-Bird Fresh Hop Harvest Ale 3.5
Can pour dark gold with copper with moderate ecru head. Nose pine, resin, light fruit and grassy. Taste light bitter up front, then slightly watered down hop flavors. Light bitter finish. Seems like a session with good nose and lighter flavors

Moerlein King Pin 3
Draft at the Lager House, served in a flight. "How is this different from Little Kings and the other previous cream ales?" "Not sure, but I know for sure it is." Well, okay then! Pours a clear gold color with a small white head that settles into a ring and a few spots of lace. Classic cream ale character, but not as offputting as some can be. Sweet and malty, with sugars, corn, cereal malts, and a touch of dried fruit. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Hits the style.

Moerlein Desire 3.2
Draft at the Lager House, served in a flight. Pours a clear copper color with an off-white head that leaves a wispy film and ring while lacing the glass. Notes of sweet and amber and toasted malts, leafy and fruity hops, and sweet bubblegum. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, slightly bitter (way in the end) mouthfeel. Decent red ale. Iíd like a session amber to be a little more subtle, though, and the sweet bubblegum note didnít help in that regard.

Moerlein Peopleís Pilsner 3
Draft in a flight at the Lager House. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head that settles into a ring, with a few wisps of lace, while lacing the glass. Surprisingly fruity for the style, with lemon citrus and banana chips, dried orchard fruits, sweet cereal and pale malts, light grass, hay, and sugars. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, fruity mouthfeel. Theyíve cranked out a lot of new pilsners in the past year, and this one is a little off the style spectrum.

Moerlein Shiver 3.4
Growler shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have Chai tea over top of the porter characteristics, roasted malt, chocolate, this comes off thin to me with more in common with the Chai tea than the porter.

Moerlein T-Bird Fresh Hop Harvest Ale 3.6
Draft at Wiseguy Lounge at Goodfellas Pizza in OTR, tasted on December 8, 2015. Dark amber hue, firm bittersweet nose with earthy and citrus notes, slick texture, moderate to strong bittersweet flavor thatís malt forward with a bitter finish, nice fruity notes. Not as hop intensive as a lot of IPAs but a fine, good tasting brew.

Moerlein Bay Of Bengal 3.3
Piney hop aroma, some citrus, and slightly catty. Darker orange color with a white head. Sweet malt up front. Rich caramel, with sweet bread mixed in. Heavy citrus, orange flavors. Bitterness cuts in moderately. Some alcohol burn on the finish, with an echo of orange flavor. Medium mouth feel. O.k. but the citrus is too present on the finish for my palate

can to snifter. first off I like pilsners and secondly I am disappointed in this one. nice clear yellow color smallish white head. some minor notes of pils malts and straw. the flavor good but not crisp like a pils should be. mild in all respects as far as malts and hops and that crispness you grow accustom to. overall its not bad just not what I expected.

Moerlein Push Reel 3.5
12 ounce bottle / can
This seasonal release might not stand out from the crowd but an effective delivery method gets the job done. Despite a crowded local market it carves out a niche that means it should be worth a purchase of one or two.

Aroma / Appearance - Golden semitransparent liquid spills downwards with ease. Soft snowy head rests on top. Grassy lemons, bright earthy hops, and lawn mower debris fill the air with fresh summer textures.

Flavor / Palate - Citrus, almonds, and a light mouthfeel combine into an easy drinking package that makes this quick to down. The finish provides a deft bitterness without being overbearing. Once this comes back around grab one for yourself to cool off during a heat wave.

Moerlein Bay Of Bengal 3.2
Can that poured a hazy orange color with s white head. Some nice lacing. Medium malt nose, pineapple, spice and some other tropicals. The flavor seems to be jumbled a bit. Medium malt base with tropical hops and a spice not like rye but definite something in there. Medium bitterness. Overall not really into this one as a double but doable snd drinkable.

Moerlein Altered Pale Ale 3.3
Can that pours a mildly hazy yellow with white head. Someone deScription is wrong the can says pale ale the style above says wheat ale. There is nothing aggressively hopped about this beer. 35 ibuís should tell you that. If itís a wheat beer it has hints of diacytal in there which detracts from the flavor. So for once not sure what this is but its only decent to a point.

4oz on tap at the Lager House. Nice chai-tea, mild minty herbal aroma up front. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Clear brown color. Thin off-white head, and loose splotches of lace. Moerlein Sunnyvale IPA 3.3
4oz on tap at the Lager House. Nice spicy hop and some citrus hop up front. Bit of herbal, some earthiness, over some bready and mild caramel malt. Moderate sweet taste, lighter to moderate bitter. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter to moderate carbonation. Mild slick texture. A soft, kind of sweeter IPA, though I did prefer it to the Incline IPA I just tried prior. Decent bit or orange citrus and peppery hop.

Moerlein Incline IPA 2.6
4oz on tap at the Lager House. Some malty sweet breadiness up front, with a touch of orange citrus. Moderate-plus sweet taste, more mild bitter. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mild slick texture. Kind of full. Thin off-white head, leaving thick sheets of lace. Clear golden, slight orange color. Not really a fan of this. Really sweet and malty.

Moerlein M Crown 3.2
4oz on tap at the Lager House. Clear orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Decent ropes of lace. Kind of a piney, spicy hop aroma, with some bitter orange peel. Bigger bitter taste, light sweet, kinda dry. Medium body. Kind of crisp, mildly rough lighter carbonation. Mild slick texture. Some toasty, and caramel malt. An alright pale ale. On the bigger, maltier side, yet not too sweet. Good bitterness. Maybe more hop aroma if it was fresher? Itís been on the market for about 2 months now, so itís possible that this batch is less than optimal freshness.

Moerlein Over-The-Rhine (OTR) Ale 3.4
Draft. Cloudy, deep gold body. Tight-bubbled, off-white head, lasting. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Lingering bitterness, a bitterness that is more in the IPA category than the English Pale Ale category. Not a lot of nuance.

Moerlein Lager House Original Golden Helles 1.5
GABF 2015. Gold color. White head. Surprisingly good, thick head. Very little aroma and light malt flavor, some metal, and surprisingly sweet for the style. Given the sweetness and the metal, this beer is both flawed in its style and not very good or drinkable in any style.
