Great South Bay Hog Cabin Maple Bacon Porter 3.9
Pours a black color with minimal head. Smells of smoked bacon and dark malts. Taste is maple and porter upfront with a bacon aftertaste later. Very smooth and not overly smokey taste with the bacon. Solid porter and if your a bacon fan it definitely is up your alley. Not overly bacon taste but enough that you know itís there and is well balanced with the maple flavor as well. Not overly sweet. Definitely worth a try.

Great South Bay Massive IPA 3.2
Moderate citrus, fruit loop like hop aroma. Appearance is a light gold with small white head for an IPA. Flavor has a similar hop character in the flavor as in the aroma. A slight grassy flavor is noticeable. Bitterness is high. High alcohol flavors are present. Malt has notes of cracker. Mouthfeel is medium with a medium level of carbonation. Overall, it's a below average. Wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great South Bay Granny Jannyís Gingerbread Cookie Ale 2.7
Sort of a pale ale with flavor a added. Not the right base beer for this. The aroma is off the chart spicy, nutmeg, clove, ginger. The appearance is a deep Amber, translucent, cream color head. The flavor is nutmeg, clove, ginger, cinnamon. The finish is spicy. Medium in body. Not bad, not something I would do again.

Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn tap: pours mahogany with small head. Aroma is spicy as all hell... Yup smells like gingerbread houses. Taste is well the same, which makes this hard to really drink. My friend ordered an EnglisH Pint and we all had to help him finish it. Not really that good.

Great South Bay Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Dirty Deeds Imperial Stout 3.4
Bottle, apparently I missed this and the base beer from my notesÖ from the 2015 Boise imperial stout tasting. Near black pour with a thin ring of beige head. Roast and cocoa, a little sweet fruity bit, and some hints of barrel. Very mild change from the base beer, all I really get is more sweetness and its sort of cloying. Minimal hints of the barrel treatment. A little thinner than the base.

Great South Bay Dirty Deeds Russian Imperial Stout 3.8
Bottle, old notes from the í15 Boise imperial stout tasting. Small pour, very dark brown and near black in color, topped with a modest tan head. Roasty and toasted malt aroma, some cocoa, and a little anise. I get a little coffee in the taste, along with the heavy roastÖ there is something sweet in there too. Thick and viscous mouthfeel. Good.

Great South Bay Hog Cabin Maple Bacon Porter 4
Pours thick dark chestnut brown and unclear creamy sandy colored. Aroma is a ton or smoke, but not meaty or sausage but a good solid smoky wood. Flavor of the smoke and bacon is dominant and the maple is sublte but everything combines well as the beer opens up.

Great South Bay Hog Cabin Maple Bacon Porter 3.5
On tap at Stoneyard with Chris and Erica. We had this on the table at same time as Sly Fox McBaneís Fussed Over Porter. We all liked this better. More roasted malt and smoke in aroma. Thicker creamier body. Small amount of maple and bacon was welcome.

Great South Bay Pro-Am Collaboration Series #7: Muscat Love Tripel 3.4
Picked it up as a growler fill. Poured into a Belgian goblet. Clear, light copper beer with no head despite a nice stream of bubbles in the glass. Not sure if thatís a problem of the delivery method (growler) or the beer itself. Aroma is subdued Belgian phenols: bubble gum and pear. Less intense than many tripels. Taste: Iím not sure what to make of this. Itís got a huge wine-like character. Itís almost like Iím alternating sips of wine and beer. The belgian character is there: some bubble gum, banana and pear. There is a hint of malt sweetness at the start. But then it follows up with bright acidity and tannins from the grapes along with an incredibly dry finish and lingering alcohol heat that Iíd get from drinking a dry, white wine. Palate: Medium body with a bright acidity, definite alcohol heat and astringent finish that lingers. Overall: A very interesting and complex, but not terribly drinkable beer. It has a lot of winelike characters and it is probably best enjoyed in wine size servings. The astringency and alcohol heat really limit its drinkability for me. Best enjoyed as a sipper (or better--a substitute for a dry white wine) in small servings

Sample at Souríd. Poured a thin body light gold with a foamy large white head. Aroma is very dusty grains, super light citrus and toast. Flavor is better than the aroma, notes of toast, lemon, wet wheat, light tartness. Body is medium but the carbonation is super light and the aftertaste fades quickly.

Great South Bay Tasting Room Exclusive #11: Field 5 Golden IPA 3.9
Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, no canning date. Pours fairly crystal clear bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light honey, bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Good amount of piney/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and robustness of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately sticky/resinous mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
