Home of the Brave Guadalcanal Amber Ale
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, light fruits, pale malt, earthy hops. Flavor of pale malt, toasted malt, caramel, bitter hops. Decent, lightly hopped. 7/4/6/4/14 (3.5/5)

Home of the Brave Pilot Pale Ale
Draught sat the brewpub. Soft floral and citrus notes with some background sweet dough malt. A simple and drinkable pale ale. Of the three HOTB beers I had, this was the only that didn’t seem spot on for style. Still, not too shabby.

Home of the Brave 442 Go for Broke ale.
This is kind of a standard DIPA, however it is a very well brewed standard DIPA. Full of hop resin, some citrus and pine, and a bold malt backbone. A bit sweet and bitter in the finish. Full bodied. Quite enjoyable.

Home of the Brave Charlie Brown Ale
Medium brown. Medium bodied. Sweet malts with some decent chocolate and light roasted malt. A very solid and classic example of a brown ale.

Poured in to a tulip. Aroma is a strong floral scent with notes of orange and other citrus as well as a very slight note of resin. Head is a good 2 fingers which comes down quickly to a fizzy non existent layer both of which are cloud white. appearance overall is a deep orange with slight amber and is translucent with no lacing that is significant. Nice subtle sweetness on the front which goes in to a a slight malty but very floral mid and back end and finishes strong with a nice balanced bitterness and a slight dry feeling. A nice sessionable pale ale with notes that will keep you drinking.

Remember Pearl Harbor Dark Lager
Contract brewed by Sprecher this tasted very similar to a swarzbier I had from them. This was noteworthy beer, because at a dinner, 3 of us out of 4, ordered this, and they brought us each a bomber without warning. Yikes! But it was tasty, very tasty, fresh, hit the spot, and all 4 of us contributed to making the problem disappear. My notes from the Sprecher apply: Coming out of the bottle, this beer instantly captured my attention, man it was good looking. Black, no real highlights, thick tan head, small tight bubbles, nice retention. Roasted, and chocolate in the nose. Yup a little coffee too. Decent palate with a sharp start and nutty toasted end, also caramel. A bit watery in the palate but to be expected in this style. Very very good, I’m guessing best schwarzbier I’ve had.
