Bottle from Reserve A Biere, Colmar, Alsace, France, consumed outside Frank at Campingpark Lindelgrund, Guldentahl, Germany, Germany, Monday 27th June 2016. It’s very much black with a tan head, very thick mouthfeel, coffee but with a sweet spirit edge also which tends to make it very drinkable. Very good beer A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bien de aroma, de sabor un poco floja y exageradamente carbonatada. Una cantidad de gas en boca molesta bajo mi gusto. Aún así, de cuerpo bien y con un regusto ligero pero tirando a dulzón, agradable.

10cl sample from bottle at the Leuven Innovation Beer Festival II 2016 (16 V 2016). A herbs and spiced Toletum aged beer, brewed with local ingredients famous in Toledo city, as well as marzipan and saffron. Pretty heavly alcohol beer, with 8.2% ABV and 40 IBU. Red orange, coppery coloured ale with a white and beige collar (35 EBC in colour). There is lots of smoked in the flavours. Very tastful, with lots of cinnamon (lots of it!), peppers, medium sweet. Great.

Black with dark creamy head. Aroma and flavour have sweet burnt caramel. Slightly more sweet than bitter overall but the heavy roast in the finish makes it really complete.

Muddy brown with no head. Aroma is smokey from the smoked paprika. It gives the flavour a savoury edge too. Perhaps too one dimensional.

Bottle @ LIBF’16. Shared with the RB Belgian team.

Bottle @ LIBF’16. Shared with the RB Belgian team.

At LIBF, from a luxurious 75 cl bottle. Thin, off-white head, light hazy copper colour. Strange aroma strongly reminiscent of salted tomato juice and sundried tomato, raw celery, some saffron and lemon zest indeed but not too much of the cinnamon that went in here too, almond far away as well. Restrained fruitiness in the mouth, soft carbo, vaguely sweetish and sourish with something subtly umami-like, nutty malt body, salted tomato flavor again (also retronasally) with soft spicy notes providing some structure in the finish. Weird concoction, not my cup of tea.

No head, black beer. Intense coffee, Haagse Hopjes, Koffiebonen - rather sweet, and roasted. Coffee, mocha, more sweet coffeesweets - but finally watery. Medium bodied, undercarbonated. Might have shown much more punch, seen its name (triple stout). Oh, and that for the beer, now I want to meet the nymph herself - or at least the model for the label

Towering, fluffy yellow head, due to artificial lighting, arbitrary appearance rating. Spices - especially bitter cinnamon, bit of saffron, sweet, orangezeste. Saffron, cinnamonbark, caramel, orangezeste, dry fruitcake with succade and almonds. Medium to well-bodied, quite slick. Long-lasting flavours. Obviously sweet, but not too much.

No head to speak of - due to artificial lighting, arbitrary appearance rating. Smoke, real woodfire, burnt paprikaskins as for peeling, smoked malts and vegetables - great nose! Smoked, faintly vegetal and fruity - paprika stands to reason. Quite slick, medium bodied. Finish is a tad empty, however. Very original, can’t but like it!

It is a good stout, black, compact and brown foam. There is a side a bit bitter but it is ok and after we could smell some plums and vanilla and a nice side of coffee and final note in the mouth powerful. This beer is better than the I.P.A from the same brewery.

It is, in my opinion, not the best I.P.A. or it is maybe not my kind if beer. The carbonation is high, really sparkling like a Mexican soda. The color is nice with this creamy yellow. The foam is weak. There is something metallic and the hop is not so present and the final sensation is in the mouth like a kind of aggresivity.

dark brown mahogany with reflections transparencies reminiscent of Coca Cola. Foam without ever being very rich has little retention and dissipates quickly. malty smell, sweet, spicy, something soothing, with nonalcoholic licorice presence. Entry into something watering mouth, something winey with hints of spices, snuff, machine and light memories of brandy. Carbonation nonexistent due to the aging of 13 months brandy. In his recipe it includes ingredients like honey, orange, brandy and a portion of wheat malt.
