Outeda Hidromiel Dulce

Bottle @ [ Tasting by fiulijn ].

Clear medium yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy honey, vanilla and cork notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long to average duration, spicy honey, pure honey, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20110917]

Outeda Hidromiel Dulce
Corked demi bottle, from my friend Sonia
Measured Final Gravity: 1023

Golden color, with nice legs. Aroma of bush honey and forest honey, highly oxidized, with an impression of cork and wood; southern liquor; perfum and flowers, talc. The mouthfeel is medium-sweet but not syrupy; there is a strong honey flavor (stronger pure honey flavor than in most Meads I ever tried); there is a light herbal trace and quite evident alcohol too; moderate bitterness as well (this should be avoided normally).
It seems that they don’t master the fermentation well yet; not bad, but surely a bit weird.
