Passable. Monday, October 29, 2018

2.5 Moulin des Moines Cherrylor Bottle from Bio City, Nice. Pinkish-red with a thin head. There's not so much in its aroma, but the cherry, although light, is strong tasting enough to go a long way in hiding the fact this is a low-alcohol brew. Monday, September 10, 2018

3.1 Moulin des Moines Quintor Cloudy light yellow body with a thin head. Aroma of citrus, grass, pine, orange, a hint of honey and the freshness of a forest. Taste beginning gently but also assertively; quite tasty for a low fermentation. Far better to quench your thirst - or nicely go with a summer meal - than any basic lager. 3.1 Moulin des Moines Castagnor Bottle @ First Official Randers Tasting. Pours hazy ruby amber with small off-white head. CLear aroma of yeast and caramel malt, with subtle notes of fruit and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of fruit and malt, with touches of yeast and caramel. Mild hoppy notes. Low carbonation. Sweetish-sourish, more like a Barley Wine than anything else but still rather unsatisfying. Saturday, January 24, 2015

2 Moulin des Moines Quintor 330 ml bottle bought at Organic Bliss in Causeway Bay. Cloudy hazy dull dirty blonde colour with some yeast sediments; Half finger head and white foam which fades in 40 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing and very slight carbonation; Sweet and stale aroma of malt, with typical low-alco beer smell (barley, yam, wood chips and tapioca), sugar, light musty, soggy bread, rotten yeast and faint grass; Mid to strong sweet taste of very light malt, with unfiltered pear juice, wood, light yeast, bitter hops and thin grass; Light body, watery and murky palate; Mouth feel is more of a cloudy, very low sweet pear juice, maltyness is light and in background. Some light and natural juice sweetness, yeast tastes better than smell. Kinda okay… Hoppiness is faint grassy nose and taste. Bitterness is notable and long doesn’t seem to be from hops, maybe from quinoa for a long sweet juice and bitter finish; Wet after taste. Sweet and quite easy to mouth. Comments: From the label, this one’s a blend of pale lager with ’quinoa extract’, which includes quinoa flour, malt and lemon juice. It still smells like a low-alco beer, its taste is murky but passable, Sweet, juicy and bitter, is it so tough to brew a good one with quinoa? This one seems to say “Yes”. Wednesday, July 9, 2014

2.2 Moulin des Moines Castagnor Pours muddy brown with very little head. Aroma was a weird mix of wild weeds, wood, barley, and floor scrapings from a barn - unique if nothing else. Taste is a very odd non-alcohol mix of barley and malts, nutty flavour, and lots of water. Weak palate. Points for trying, but this one just doesn’t work. Monday, October 4, 2010
