There’s more and more microbreweries around, and lot of them (I’m sorry) are quite unnecessary. It’s good you want to make your own beer, but usually they’re pretty bland. This one is different! It’s a good beer: lots of aroma (sweet, acid), a great finish that call for an other bottle.

Bottle, 75cL. Thick glass. Home. Christmas gift from my parents. A sparkling brown mahogany beer with a medium off-white foamy head ; medium retention. Solid thick glass. Roast, light herb, light ginger, acid note, honey. Light sweet, light to medium dry refreshing ; light bitter. Average body, watery texture, soft carbonation, short honey finish. Overall, average roasty honey-flavored beer ; 1-dimensional. Again, Christmas just on the label... I am disappointed. The least convincing of this brewery so far.

Bottle from a French supermarket. Murky brown with an abundance of suspended particles despite having time to settle. Pours with a reasonable cream head. Despite the unappealing looks there is some decent taste to this. Plenty of spiciness but also some roasty flavour and a bit more body than some of the beers I’ve tried from this brewer. Not too bad.

Bottle: Thanks Eric: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium to bigger sized, vast and slowly changing, fluffy creamy foamy head on top of a beautiful hazy orange colored beer. Aromas of malts, a light fruity touch like orange and a light hoppy citrus tone (very light), yeast, some grains and caramel. Quite crispy. Flavours of herbs, barley malts, light hop tone, more fruiy tone of yeast and crispy grains, some floral and bitter tones, a touch of some dry malts, hint of roosvicee and a light hint of something dough alike. Aftertaste is a mix of yeast, some fruit, light orange, some bitters, light grainy and some spiced herbs. Nice. Low carbo, soft creamy silky mouthfeel, good medium body and a thick creamy oily texture.

Misty orange/copper body with large bubbly head. Classic style Belgian amber with moderate alcohol, yet the aroma is pleasant and smooth. Not without hop either and a light peachy aroma. Foamy mouth feel, nicely developed. Some sticky fruit notes yet the palate is smooth enough. Bit too sweet though, but that’s maybe just me. Decent amber, better than most small French ambrées. What beer hazy body, yellowish golden, with bubble and stable head. Light citric, lemony, some soap, crusty white bread and a little grassy hops. Not as rich as I expected. Drinks better, with a light citrus, orange tone and quite refreshing. However, the Tourangelle Blanche form the brewer is better. This is slightly more bland. Which is strange, because the Tourangelle serie is supposed to be the dimmed down one. Ah well. Now I have to find a Turone Ambrée to complete this brewer. :) (75cl bottle from 8 à Huit in Tours)

Dark brown body with tan very bubbly head. Fresher aroma than expected. Forest hops, cereal, spruce and grass. Active carbonation but not overwhelming, rather giving a full mouth feel. Good amount of bitterness, roasted malts and generally a rich flavour. Ending with coffee. Well made, much better than expected. Are my taste buds already forgetting how hops taste like, or is this actually a totally unknown and very well made Fresh dubbel? Tasty nonetheless! (75cl bottle from 8 à Huit in Tours)

Light misty yellow greenish body with significant head, unfortunately quite unstable. Fresh saison like aroma, dry hops, citric, sweet bread, lemon curd and fresh yeast. Nice sweet citric starts getting into a more bitter desert taste. Quite dry and very drinkable. That, together, doesn?t sound too interesting but it drinks very well and is rich in taste. Well made classic style brew. (75cl bottle from 8 à Huit in Tours)

La Tourangelle Blonde
(I believe this is not the same as the brewer’s Tourone Blonde, as their website lists them separately and the abv is 0.5% lower. Will visit the brewery some time soon to check.) Golden, almost clean body with soapy white head. Light fresh aroma, citric, sweet malts, coriander. Much like the white actually, albeit slightly more malty. Taste is also more standard, with bigger carbonation that overshadows the already limited hops. Sharp bitterness yet not very expressive. Simple ending. Resembles a Belgian white actually, but with the standard malts and missing hops it’s not much to write home about.

(I believe this is not the same as the brewer’s Tourone Blanche, as their website lists them separately. Will visit the brewery some time soon to check.) Very light yellow body, somewhat misty and frothy white stable head. Rich citrus aroma, lemon zest, fresh nutmeg, coriander, grassy hops and light crusty bread base malts. Crisp mouth feel, active yet pleasant carbonation. Light bitter, zesty taste, very refreshing. Clean, dry yet pretty long aftertaste. Quite surprising this one. It won’t blow you away but the well hopped taste, crisp aroma and dry ending are more than I expected and will be great on a warm Fresh spring day. (33cl bottle from Auchan in Tours)

Clear, brown bodied with frothy light tan head. Malty bock like aroma, light caramel, dark bread dough, fermented fruits but also some light spice, nutmeg and clove. Taste is more expressive, good mouth feel, active and pleasant carbonation, light sticky. Matches the season well. Light bitter, not underhopped for a change. Sharper malts and a good bitterness to end. Quite clean still not well made and flavourful. Nice Christmas beer, can easily match most well known Belgians. I hope this brewers other beers are as good. (75cl bottle from Auchan in Tours)
