Bottle bbe 03/2024 No carbonation. Sour. Off. There's clearly an issue with this bottle but as in date should have been fine.

On cask at Lade Inn, Kilmahog - cloudy brown with an off white head. Smoky liquorice notes but a little lacking in the flavour. Some fruitiness but fairly meh.

Brewed by Tryst mentioned on the label. Pale blond colour with lasting head. Really packed with pale malts giving a pleasant background sweetness. Just enough hop to give it a pleasant bitter aftertaste.

500ml bottle: Mahogany coloured with a 1cm,foamy white head that holds very well with quite a thick look to it & tiny bits of sediment through the body too. A roasted malt bitterness & biscuit notes open the nose with earthy touches & light caramel towards the end, with subtle summer fruits to finish. Its more bitter tasting than the nose, lots of earthy malts & roasted touches but nothing really dominated, some biscuit & caramel flavours again round things off whilst the body is smooth, medium & slightly fizzy without being overdone but it's definitely a basic beer overall.

500ml bottle: Light golden & quite clear with a 3cm, foamy head that's thick looking, dome shaped & bone white with good retention. It's floral on the nose initially before a sourness & some apples come through alongside some citrus & subtle biscuit notes. The taste is mainly the biscuit & citrus from the nose with none of the sourness, it's slightly floral with a few pale malts too. It has a light-medium body & strong, fine carbonation with a sharp, tangy finish.

Trossachs LadeOut
500ml bottle: Chestnut brown & translucent but the head was ridiculously foamy & oversized, siting about 4 inches tall even after a very slow gentle pour & the bottle ended up overflowing when I opened it too but there was some nice lacing on the glass as well. The nose is nutty initially with earthy malts & a slightly sour middle then light roasted notes to finish. Some dark chocolate comes through with the taste with the earthy malts & nutty flavours too but it's an improvement on the nose at least. It's medium bodied & tangy with a little fizz at the end but otherwise it's moderately carbonated.

Bottle courtesy of Dad, cheers Dad. Consumed at home unusually having a beer on a Monday night but hey it is Loz’s birthday, Monday 14th November 2016 Pours dark amber with a large sticky and frothy white head. Fruity but with a busy carbonation, mmhhh.... a little plastic thing going on here, not great, funny aftertaste. Nope another beer that I won’t finish. A6 A3 T3 P2 Ov9 2.3

Cask at the Lade Inn, Callander. Pours straw colour with foaming head. Hoppy citrus nose with flowery light fresh zing. Taste is surprisingly complex with sweet malt and slight bitter finish. Could have had a second and third, but dragged away. I normally find a blonde ale blande but not this.

Taste - toffee with a hint of honeycomb, astringent malt finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry but not too astringent finish as you get used to it. 2014-06-29. Crisp dark brown body with a nice creamy tan head and lace. Aroma is pleasant, lightly toasty malt, whispers of sugars, mild cocoa and chocolate. Flavour is similar, sweetish malt core. Light bitterness and very light roast lingers in the finish. Light herbal licorice like character in the bottle 6++ Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Tasty but a touch too mild. I ordered this both on cask and in the bottle by mistake! Interestingly the chilled bottle is actually more full flavoured - a function of the package or serving temperature I wonder?
