Faringdon Black as Your Soul
Cask conditioned at Wantage Beer Festival '20, The Beacon, Oxon. Black with beige head. There is a smooth, darkly roasted malty character to this, quite earthy, slightly scorched flavours. Hints of earthy blueberry in the close. Pretty reasonable.

Faringdon Folly Pride

Cask (handpump) @ The Swan, 1 Park Road, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, England SN7 7BP.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light nutty - roasted, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, nutty bitter, thin, dry, apple and licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111022]

Faringdon Folly Ale
Cask conditioned at The Swan, Faringdon, Oxon. Copper with white head. This is with different hops to the Folly Pride. Fruity, quite sweetish in character. Late bitterness, a good quaffing ale. Good stuff.

Faringdon Folly Pride
Cask conditioned at Wantage Beer Fest ’11. Brown with white head. Malty with a flatish, earthy note, quite drying, but essentially a very basic bitter. It’s ok but somewhat unexciting.

Faringdon Black Swan Mild
Cask conditioned gravity dispense Banbury BF 2011. A dark brown/ruby mild with a beige head. A fruity aroma with a touch of sourness leads to a fruity taste with some burnt malts. Again a touch of acidity. OK only.

Faringdon Black Swan Mild
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’11. Chestnut with beige head. There is a milky chocolate note in the aroma with a touch of tar. The beer delivers chocolate flavours straight off, liquorice, there is lots going on for a simple mild, sweetish malts, usually not my bag but this pulls it off quite well. Good stuff.

Faringdon Folly Pride
Cask, gravity, Wantage Beer Festival 19.11.10 Pours brown with good clarity, heavy on butterscotch and nuttiness, in fact if my eyes were closed I would think that this was more Mild like in flavour, it’s a touch thin and watery, i’m getting a little peanut brittle, ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0 Had this again on cask, handpump at The Swan Faringdon, Oxon 22.10.11 in company of Loz, Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella & kids. Pours dark brown in fact chestnut would be a more accurate description, a little nutty. There is a hint of perfum on the nose, its bitterer than I expected or recalled, some cocoa and smooth chocolate, once again I see this more as a mild than a bitter. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov13 3.1
