First commercial beer by Dean, sampled on his last visit to Antwerp ( Yeah, we’ll see about that ) pours creamy, chocolaty Brown , good white head. Smell is full, Rich, natural malts. 77ships	3.3 ABC Beers Haagse Harry Pogtah Bieah Thank you kermis! 330 ml. bottle sampled. 2010 Vintage. Dark brown, little tanned head. Nose is clear oxidation, herbal, forest & leave oxidation notes mixed with some bark, herbal, licorice base. Body is bit fizzy, clearly showing age. Taste is clear oxidation, oxidized fruit, forest leaves, some bitter plaster, oxidized fruit. Too much oxidation for me but not all bad with some Belgian styling, would have picked this one for a Belgian Ale & not a Porter. That is either age or Klein Duimpje stylings, possibly both. jsquire	3.6 ABC Beers Haagse Harry Pogtah Bieah (Baltic Porter) Dark mahogany beer with a short lived tan head. Sweet malt nose with a bit of dark roasted grains in the nose. Thick, rich mouth feel. Molasses and burnt caramel sweetness with some ash, burnt toast, overripe fruit, and a noticeable alcohol burn as it warms. Nice, rich porter. Monday, April 11, 2016

Pours dark with nice light tan head. Moderate head retention, poor lacing. Roasty, licorice, caramel, litttle tart nose. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. ABV 9.2% Dark brown colour on the body, seems totally black but the light doesn’t really help. One finger of thick, brown head on top, with good retention. Aroma has light roasted malts, coffee, ligt chocolate and the taste follows the aroma, with roasted malts, light coffee, chocolate, some fruity notes. Nicely bitter finish with well hidden alcohol. Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, cookie, caramel, pale malt, biscuit malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, grass, light to moderate yeasty. Initial flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter, finish flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, citrus - grass, cookie - biscuit malt, dry, late finish is quit bitter. mariuspoenari	4 ABC Beers Haagse Harry Pogtah Bieah Not sure if this is a different beer or the info was wrong, but the version I tried was labelled as a 9.2% Baltic Porter. Pours a very dark, almost opaque beer, brown towards burgundy red, more like a quad than a porter, with a nice head. The smell confirms that this is, again, more a quad than a porter. Notes of caramel, dark fruit, strawberry jam, molasses. The taste is very rich and fruity, with strawberry jam and caramel, along with roasted malts, spices and a bit of dark chocolate in the background. A very pleasant drink Sunday, September 6, 2015

Flavour has minerals, surprisingly aggressive grapefruity hops, some nettles and sweet apricot notes. Finishes with lingering hops and menthol.
