T/p: med body with short bitter finish. Moderate carbonation. O: A first contact with this brewery for me and I'm not that I'm impress. czar	3.3 La Captive La Cachotière on tap on the premises. unclear medium dark brown pour, orange hue piercing through, with a very creamy beige head offering good retention and lacing. spicy and earthy milk chocolate, almost assertive grassiness, touch of earthy coffee beans, like a ten day-old ground coffee bag, i.e. not so bad; some lactosean residual sugars. creamy nitroed carbonation, light body - oily; balanced roasty-grassy finish. a fairly decent stout - clearly their ’’best’’ offering. Bierdimpfe	2.8 La Captive La Tavarneuse Hazy golden amber color with poor activity. Thick white 1 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with average legs. Aromas and flavors of caramel, grains, nuts, floral and herbal spices. Butterscotch nose. Taste of sweet grains, burnt sugar and roasted nuts. More sharp than sweet and slightly grassy. Slick medium body with perfect carbonation. Strong finish of medium length, ending with a coarse floral mouth coat, coriander and piney feel. Overall an average craft with good freshness while overly spicy and lacking some flavors like citrus or fruits. Tuesday, April 12, 2016
Bierdimpfe	2.6 La Captive La Coupable From tap : Clear straw, almost golden color, with poor activity. White 1 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with poor legs. Aromas and flavors of citrus, pine, fruits, caramel, floral and herbal spices. Floral and piney nose. Taste of lemon and orange with some thick coriander and strong piney spices. More bitter than sweet with a grassy and woody feel. Slick medium body with prickly carbonation. Strong finish of medium length, ending with a highly spicy bitter tongue coat and dry grassy feel. Overall a little off; doesn’t really feel like a white beer, more like a pale ale. The freshness is alright, but the flavors are too strong, overly spicy, with a perceptible alcohol feel. Eructoblaster	2.6 La Captive La Tavarneuse Bouteille - 341ml. Robe dorée/blonde monotone agrémentée d’une effervescence d’une d’une eau Perrier ainsi que d’une mousse blanche fugace. Arome malté/houblonné pas mauvais mais tout de même ordinaire. On décèle des notes florales et de pain. Son goût frais est légèrement dominé par le houblon. On retrouve quelques nuances d’herbes, de résine et de bois. Finale amère qui surprend par sa persistance. Pas une grande bière mais dans une taverne remplie de mononcles, ça fait la job. mathieuc	2.1 La Captive La Tavarneuse Pours a clear golden with a soapy rim for a head that leaves light lacing. Nose is pretty "english" in nature with some earthy notes along with the usual "tobacco" notes I get from english pale ales. There is also some awkward garbage (think rotten vegetables) smell to it that I really don’t want in a beer. Taste isn’t much better with some caramel, earthy dried leaves and some light fruits. Some weird mineral notes or maybe it’s the carbonic acid. Body is light to medium, carbonation pretty much unbearable (too damn high!). Not sure what to add here, they need to do some major work on this recipe or any recipe before I dare to drink any of their products again... Friday, June 20, 2014

cargo150	3.4 La Captive La Cachotière Dégusté a la microbrasserie. Couleur noir avec un beau col beige mousseux. Nez de malt grillé de chocolat et légèrement fruité, cerise un peu on dirait. En bouche très beau mélange chocolaté et encore une fois fruité un peu, manque un peu d’amertume et de corps. Leur deuxième meilleure bière après la brune selon moi. En bouche elle se boit très bien le malt et le caramel forment une bonne équipe avec d’autre arôme subtil comme des noisette, en finale une bonne amertume pas trop désagréable. Leur meilleure bière.
