Offbeat Oddity No.2 Berliner Weisse
Bottle from Drink? Hebden Bridge. Hazed pale golden with sediment and a small carbonation. There’ was not a lot to suggest Berliner Weiss for me, more like wine in fact. There’s an initial sweetness followed by a long dry sourness and lots of lemon tartiness.

Almost clear gold beer, tidy off white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has modest fine carbonation. Smooth light malt base, a touch of sweetness. Fair bit of herb here - duh! Floral herb, bitter herb, slightly minty - lemon herb. Finishes light with more bitter herb. An interesting beer but I couldn’t drink a lot of this.

Offbeat Blood Weiser Blood Orange Wheat Beer
A really great beer! The colour is a thick, translucent orange and the head retention is excellent. There is a very full flavour that keeps on going and the aroma matches this well. I don’t personally love oranges (or wheat beers) but this flavour is great: certainly orangey but not overpowering and works really well with the light, wheaty flavour. There is a lot going on in the palate and you can continue to appreciate this long after the beer has been swallowed. A delicious beer
