Thursday, August 19, 2021

2.9 Saint Bier IPA Average frothy offwhite head. Good lacing. Mostly diminishing. Clear dark-yellow body. Aroma: light malt, strawberry quik, moderate hoppy, pine, orange, light passion fruit, alcohol. Initial and final flavors: light sweet moderate bitter; long duration. Palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic light alcoholic finish.

4.4 Saint Bier Stout Short description: Gently sweet and slightly fruity Oatmeal Stout, with pleasant bold roasted malt flavours, dark chocolate with hazelnut, and notes of espresso, tangerine, grapes, and merlot wine. Very prominent alcohol. .::. The Saint Bier Stout is produced with malt, oats, and hops. This is a 6%, 20 IBU Oatmeal Stout with a pleasant light sweetness, though not cloying, and gentle bitterness. Pours a dark reddish brown, nearly black, with a large amber head of good retention. Entrancing aromas of toasted baguette with butter, cereals, tangerine spiced black tea, cashew nuts and mocha coffee. The cereals, roasted and not, are very present in the taste, keeping it bold, and reminiscing of dark chocolate with hazelnut. Smooth body, the oats really help here, with a pleasant mixture of tangerine, grapes, and espresso coffee notes. The alcohol is very prominent, and at points it reminds one of merlot wine. The roasted malts become extra strong in the after-taste, but never too sour or unpleasant. Delicious stout for lovers of dry and sweet stouts alike. Thursday, January 23, 2020

4.2 Saint Bier IPA Bottle from Emporio São Paulo, Itaim. Orange color big expansive yellowish head, lots of thick flaky particles in suspension and sediment. Aroma is strongly on the american hops side, with lots of tangerine, grapefrut and tropical fruits. Kinda thick bready malts profile, lightly roasted, candy orange. Flavors are intense, umami, tasty, perfumed. Taste sugary and strong bitter. Finish is quite dry, long, aromatic. Wow i'm very surprised by this one, an excellent IPA from brazil, guess what.
