3.1 Sapporo Koyoen Stout Tap at Koyoen Kitte. Shiny Balck with a medium, fine head. Simple nose, chocolate, coffee, a bit of cream. Clean, simple flavor, roasty and light body. A bit lacking. Reasonably good but very pedestrian. Monday, November 7, 2016

2.9 Koyoen Dark Weizen Clear orange gold with a thick head. This beer has a sharp tangy clove aroma which is ok. Much smoother body than the regular Weizen with a round carbonation. The taste delivers nutty caramel and mild Weizen notes. Kind of like a blend of an Amber and their Weizen. Better than my other beer from them but still blah. Monday, October 3, 2016

2.5 Koyoen Weizen Draft at Koyoen Kitte by Nagoya Station. Milky light gold with a thick head. It’s got a clean clove & lemony citrus aroma which I like. However, the taste is pretty rough: cardboard, waterlogged crackers, citrus zest and just a faint hazy memory of cloves. What a letdown. Monday, October 3, 2016

2.4 Koyoen Ale Draught at the brewpub. Medium amber color with a medium-height, fine head. Clean. Slight caramel aroma with minerals and earth. Toasted malt flavor, earthy, with some caramel. Rather dry, with some strange spiciness. Rather bland and minerally. Very gassy as well. Hard to finish it all. Sunday, February 27, 2011

2.9 Koyoen Weizen Draught at the brewpub. Pale yellow, cloudy, with a thin, fine, white head. Banana and peach aroma, faint, but it’s too cold. Malty, fruity flavor with light weizen character—some banana, but more citrus and peach. Low spice. More of a wheat ale. Clean, crisp and light, with somewhat high carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Ok. No real problems, but a bit boring. Sunday, February 27, 2011

3.4 Koyoen Pilsner Draught at the brewpub. Bready malt aroma with grass. Nice rich malt flavor with bread and good bitterness. A bit of citrus there as well, and nice balance. Good fruit, with a great, clean hoppy finish. Good, clean, tasty stuff. By far the best of their beers. Sunday, February 27, 2011
