Crooked Stave Surette Prunus Persica
Hazy golden with no head. Funky tart apricot aroma with a lot of wood and a touch of sour white wine. Huge sour bacterial pop at the start of the flavor that brings a bit of oak and funk and a sour apricot back end. Hugely funky and sour, and very woody.

Crooked Stave Raspberry Origins
My Bottom Line:
Deep raspberry juices grace lactic acidity, leathery undertones and wooden depths in this perfectly cohesive and highly seductive Barrel-Aged Fruit Beer.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A pink sheet of foam tops the glistening blood red.
-Raspberry and lactic acidity quickly become one in the flavour profile.
-Flavor intensity is, as usual for Crooked Stave, high enough to create interest with every sip and smooth enough to encourage drinkability and more delicate food pairings.
-Body is softly effervescent and velvety.
-All components are perfectly balanced. This is an impressive blend.

Bottle.

Crooked Stave St. Bretta (Gold Nugget Mandarin)

Crooked Stave Vieille Artisanal
(bottle) Pours a cloudy yellow color with a fast dissipating white head that forms a thin ring around the tulip glass. Aroma contains an initial punch of oak and peach with an herbal undertone (I think lemony thyme), and a floor of funk. Slight vanilla and lemon custard. Flavor contains plenty of lemon, mineral water, oak, that finishes with a quick bitterness and lingering oak. This sounds simplistic, but everything works here. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is sprightly. Normally I wouldn’t have bought this due to the price, but I picked this up on a discount price ($5.99) and I’m glad I did.

Crooked Stave Surette Provision Saison
Bottle, 0.375l. Pours hazy pale amber color with thick soapy white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of funk, brett, citrus, horse blanket, sweat, soil and wood. Taste starts sour citric and grainy, then mellows with vinous, yeasty and mild barrel notes, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is mild bitter. Thin to medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. A bit thinner than expected, but extremely drinkable...

Ein unfassbar intensives Geschmacksinferno. Extreme Aromen von Beeren, Fass, Kräuter und Säure feuern alle Sinne an. Der Trunk dann RASPBERRY POWER...HOT AS HELL!!! Aber damit nicht genug, der Nachtrunk ist exorbitant sour, long und definitv einzigartig. Ein Biermasterpiece für alle Extremisten. 25cl/70DKK in MIKKELLERs KOELSCHIP Kopenhagen.

Murky red brownish color with beige head. Aroma has lots of sour cherry, cherry pits, almonds, really nice. Taste is also really fruit forward with intense sour cherries, really dry and sour, bitter almonds on the finish. Medium to light body with medium effervescence. Really good one, fruity, sour, quite complex and tasty.

Aromat mało intensywny, ale miły, słodki, pomarańczowy, kwiatowy, trochę zestu, karmelu, nuta skóry. Smak lekko gorzki, wytrawny, z malutką słodyczą i kwaskiem.

Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, herbs for the hops, dried leaves for the yeast, with cherry, red wine vinegar and wood in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white, with slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear slightly hazy orange/amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic and acetic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter, and sour. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and a tart finish. Nice complexity in aroma from this tasty Sour Ale.

355ml bottle shared with SlovakSniper. Aroma: light blueberries, woody, light lactic. App: salmon / peach, no head. Taste and palate: light body, dry tart fruity finish. Overall: not a big fan of blueberries in any beer. This is well done though. I prefer the taste over the aroma. It feels refreshing and it’s really easy to drink. Not too sour. Nothing over the top here. Good but wouldn’t buy again.

August 2016 - Bottle share on level 42, with thanks to Mat yo. As ’Crooked Stave Vieille Reserva Prunus Armeniaca’. Hazy opaque vibrant yellow, foamy white head. Aroma is swimming pool, lemony, gummy sweets. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is lime sherbet, lemon zest, tangy mixed fruits. Mostly sherbet. Like many Crooked Stave beers, it is a sherbet citrus bomb. I like their beers a lot, but wish they were less expensive. (3.9)

[Tap, Targowa]. Typowo mocny aromat kwasowy.
