Shades of Pale Beer X White IPA
No Belgian character to speak of except the very white pale color, very thick, no clarity. New hops dominate but are mild with a little bitterness. Wheat IPA that looks like a white IPA.

Shades of Pale St. Patrickís Day Nitro Stout
On tap at Shades of Pale, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is very mild, with light oats and some toasted malt. Flavour brings out oats upfront, toasted malt and almost a bit of sourness. The more you drink, the more the sourness comes out on the finish. Okay, but seems infected a bit.

On a positive note, this is draft beer in Utah above 4 percent? Why? Airshow on an airforce base. The beer was rather one dimensional and mainly bitter balanced with grain. Little focus on depth and complexity to this IPA. Not bad, just average. Aroma very little light hop grass.

Shades of Pale 4-Play Porter
I bought a six pack of 12oz bottles about two months ago. I drank 5 of them noting that it was an unimpressive beer. At that time it was quite thin for a porter. Today I opened the last bottle and poured about 2oz with instant large foam up to 3/4 line of the glass. It must have had residual sugar in the presence of yeast and over carbonated. I let it set in the fridge for a while then poured the remainder. Still foamy at this pour.

From the bottle the color is burnt orange clear and highly carbonated, the head is thick, off-white and it lingures. The aroma is lightly citrus hops. The taste is immediately sharp, floral with bitter hops. The mouthfeel is medium with a watery feel to the finish. The final palate is herbal and bitter with a little sweetness on the back of the tongue

Not getting the spice from the white part of a white IPA, but the soft palate and fruit forward bitterness is really nose. Lemon and tropical fruit. Good stuff.

Shades of Pale 4-Play Porter
Bottle thanks to Gription. Nose is light chocolate and some bready, toasty malt. Seems more like a brown than a porter in the aroma. Pour is also a brown with reddish highlights, small white colored head. Taste is very toasty with some light chocolate and nuttiness. Not at all like a porter, but a thin, light brown ale. overall ok for a brown, not a good porter.

bottle thanks to Gription. Nose is huge in fudge and cocoa, very inviting, hints of coffee. pour is pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Taste is mostly coffee with a thin mouthfeel; kind of watery. Smells great, but taste is a little disappointing for such a great aroma

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Nose is light in hops, flowery. Some light toast and biscuit. Reddish orang pour with white head. Taste is mostly grassy with a buttery sensation. Overall the hops are way too subdued to even call this a pale ale. Maybe a decentvenglish bitter except itís too carbonated and cold.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. This is loaded with coffee. The coffee character is pleasant, there is a very slight tartness or acidity, possibly coming from the coffee. This is very thin for a stout and the beer character is hidden by the coffee.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Poured to snifter. Nose is moderate in fresh cut grass and lemony citrus. Pours slightly hazy, copper in color. Minimal white head. Some crystal and caramel aroma as it warms. Taste is bitter followed by a slickness of mouthfeel. Ends with a lingering bitterness. Meh.

Nice and tasty. At 5% it is a little thin but it makes it up with lots of roasted coffee.

If it wasnt for a bit of bitterness (roasted malts) to countrbalance the chocolate sweetness, Iíd say itís a brown ale. Thin, but quite harmless and certainly a pleasant drink.

This was a pretty nice 4% pale ale. Light with some hops, it suffers like many of these Utah beers in the finish, in that it trails away, which is certainly a result of the Limited alcohol content.

Don?t know how I feel about this beer. It?s very dry with some hops but obviously not much. Really for a session IPA it?s decent. Hard to make a 4% IPA taste good, but they did a pretty good job

Not going to go in to too much detail on this one. It is a session IPA. It tastes like a light pale ale. A very light citrus, and flowery notes. There just not too much overall flavor. Light in smell (very light citrus and flowery smell). Amber pour with a offwhite (almost tan) head that leaves a lot of lacing. Overall - nothing stuck out. Not a lot of flavor. Nothing unique. Pretty basic.

Bottle via trade sampled at home. Pours a clear dark golden color with a medium to large fluffy off white head. The aroma and flavor are pretty bland, pale malts, somewhat grainy, mild floral and earthy hops, grass, and a light orange fruity note, a slight mineral note, not really anything bad, just not much of anything at all.
