0.33l bottle from #140213. Looks really good this with a huge lasting and really lacing light brown head. Nice but a bit weird aroma. Mildly roasted, a strange form of chocolate, vanilla, minty toothpaste and green weeds.Some hops also of course, but this doesn’t smell like and other black IPA I’ve ever smelled. Tastes quite nice. Vanilla and a nice cocoa roastiness. It’s pretty fantastic on the smooth almost velvety mouthfeel and soft prickling on the carbonation. Mild burnt also with hints of sweet licorice before it ends in a lingering roasted aftertaste with traces of cold coffee. A strange one, never tasted or smelled a black IPA like this. Wonder what they’ve done here. 10.10.2014

Quite hazy bright yellow color with white head. Aroma is hoppy with an intense yeast note reminding me of brett. Taste is also quite yeasty with some lemony hops and clean malt profile. Light body with crisp carbonation. It feels like a pils but the aroma and taste lean more towards a saison.

very rich, sweet and heavy, not much of the chili but the vegetal pumpkin is up front and doesn’t quite work at this strength, sticky and syrupy, even my sample glass was a struggle. This could work well blended with a fresher or more acidic beer to cut through the sweetness.

9th July 2016: on-tap in BierCaB Barcelona with the RBESG guys. Poured black with a beige head. Aroma was roasted/toasted malts, liquorice and peppery. Taste is a bit strange with pumpkin, semi-hot chilli notes with a trace of chocolate from the malts. Decent and different.

9th July 2016: on-tap in the NaparBCN Brewpub with the RBESG guys. Poured a dark brown with a ruby red hue, on top an off-white cap. Aroma was vinous and woody with some dark fruitiness, taste similar with dark berry flavours dominating, good alcoholic overtones, nice.

9th July 2016: on-tap in the Napar Brewpub with the RBESG guys. Light haze to the golden pour, white head on top. Citrus led IPA with a strong grapefruit and lemon feel throughout: decent enough, a bit more malt presence would have helped me enjoy it more.

Naparbier Napar Pale Ale
9th July 2016: on-tap in the Napar Brewpub with the RBESG guys. Hazy pour to the golden yellow brew, on top a thin white head. The aroma was a mixed basket of citrus fruits on a bed of freshly cut grass. The taste also citrus led, but with an underlying malty sweetness that balanced out the bitterness from the hops nicely. The third beer of the fifteen we were to sample during the NaparBCN session: already liking this place.

Bottle, batch 16044 (from Koht). Pours dark brown with light brownish head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is roast, citrus, grapefruit, malt. Flavor is citric and bitter, roast, grapefruit, lemon, malt. Covers alcohol rather well, drinkability is good. Overall: good.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with a slight/medium off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends medium bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. The intense sweetness gets perfectly balanced by amazing bitterness the loads of hops provide.

Indeed a typical Belgian ale, well hopped but it’s the fermentation that impressed me, oddly. Nice smooth mouth feel, good foamy carbonation. Apple like taste finish. Nice brew. (33cl bottle from Etre Gourmet)

Typical cloudy golden orange. Not as banana and spicy as the best known German versions, but I dig the fuller body with lower carbonation. Less sweet too, nice. Super tasty and actually quite unique mouth feel. Recommended! (33cl bottle from Etre Gourmet)

Nice aroma with lots of berries, vinous notes. Taste follows, lots of berries, graoes, sherry, vinous notes, alcohol on the finish. Medium body with good carbonation. Very good, dangerously drinkable.

On tap at the Avenue Pub in New Orleans. The tap was a big gusher for this one. Pours a murky orange color with white head. Fresh strawberries, vinous, slight funky aromas. Strawberries, slight cardboard, slight yeasty, slight barnyard flavors. Great aroma of fresh strawberries, but flavors is a touch cardboardy and a touch off. Flavor could have a bit more freshness too it, but still fun beer to drink, another Spanish tick at the Avenue Pub.

Butelka. Barwa ciemno miedziany. Kompletny brak piany. Aromat wskazujący na starzenie w beczce po mocniejszym trunku. Intensywny przypominający czerwone wino, sherry, winogrona,śliwki. Dodatkowo najprawdopodobniej lekkie czerwone jabłko. W smaku słodycz. Smak nie porywa. Zdecydowana dominacja beczki (wino, sherry), nuty ciemnych owoców oraz dużo więcej czerwonego jabłka. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Po ogrzaniu lekko rozgrzewa. Piwo pomimo wysokiej zawartości alkoholu jest nadzwyczaj pijalne. Konsystencja pełna lecz nie oleista.

Muy aromática, con toques frutales a piña, ciruela y mango, aunque la levadura también se nota con un deje a cuero y castaña. Color miel oscuro con espuma blanca y cremosa pero escasa, aunque persistente. Muy dulce al paladar, con cierto amargar final que podría ser más contundente. Espesa y con poco gas, ideal para saborear trago a trago y despacio. Mi favorita de Naparbier y una de las mejores IIPA que he probado.

Taste is biting bitter hoppy, citrusy, minimally soapy, hints of old lemon peel, a touch of lime, grassy and floral hoppy interludes. 100 IBUs come into effect.

33cl bottle. Appearance:Murky orange with pinkish tones, with a nice thick offwite head. Good retention and minor lacing. Aroma: Strawberries, yeast, malts. Taste: Strawberries, peppy yeast, hint of fruit juice Low sweetness, nice sourness very balanced. Black pepper + strawberries is a known inning combination and this saison takes that combination.Very refreshing. Moderate For me this is a bit of a gourmet beer. I can understand people not liking it. But I think it’s more then good, only 1 dimensional.
