The Growler Brown Ale
On tap at the brewpub, part of a sampler set. Poured a nice med-dark brown with a light tan head. Nose was malty, with a bit of diacetyl present. Taste was typical for a brown and if not for the nose, was a fairly decent one.

The Growler Irish Stout
On tap at the brewpub, part of a sampler set. Poured a dark brown with light tan head. Nose was off, funky, to the point of unpleasant. The taste however was smooth, roasty. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall below average for the style due to the aroma.

The Growler Hefe
On tap at the brewpub, part of a sampler set. Light straw color with white head. Nose was almost non existent, and the taste was very mild with hints of lemon. Overall on the watery side, very light bodied. Base on the other review, I would say that there could be some consitency QC issues.

The Growler IPA
On tap @ the Brewpub, part of the sampler. The chalkboard said 8.3% alcohol! I asked the brewer, who was hanging out at the bar about it and he said he was certain; he had a batch that was over 9%...When I asked what the IBUís were, no one seemed to know, the owner (I thought it might be), went in the back to find out, but when he returned he didnít have the info. Beer was copper in color with a medium white head. Nice citrus nose, with a bit of wood. Taste was smooth and seemed balanced. Overall it was the best beer of the sampler; they wnet down from there.

The Growler Irish Stout
Draft @ The Growler. Pours a deep, dark cola-brown color; thin, off-white head. Some dark chocolate and a touch of roast in the aroma; rounded, soft, balanced. Medium body; medium to medium-light CO2; a touch flabby. Moderate levels of cola, very lightly roasted malts, and a fair amount of toastiness; a very basic Irish stout: not particularly dry, but drinkable and enjoyable nonetheless. Medium-length finish: cola, toasty, and a touch of emergent mineral bitterness at the far end.

The Growler Irish Red
Draft @ The Growler. Pours a slightly hazy, caramel color; fine-bubbled white head. Basic cola and caramel in the aroma; perhaps a touch of diacetyl, but very quiet. Medium body; medium CO2. Plenty of cola and caramel, with a restrained sweetness and a touch of toastiness at the core. Hops minimal, appropriately. Solid if a touch basic. Medium-length finish: cola, caramel, and malty sweetness, with just a touch of toasted maltiness at the far end; approaching buttered popcorn.

The Growler Hefe
Draft @ The Growler. Pours a hazy, golden color; creamy white head with small bubbles and solid retention/lacing. Solid peppery aroma with cloves and bananas in a nice balance; carefully fermented; some citrus; really nice. Medium body; lively CO2; nicely dry and refined character. Solid show of cloves and bananas, along with a well-placed pepperiness from the yeast (almost along the lines of a Tripel component); very lively, peppery, crisp and refreshing; like a Hefe/Tripel hybrid. Delicious. Lengthy finish: doughy malts, lingering white pepper; nicely dry.
