DeanF	1.7 Shiretown Venezuelan Express Porter Pours very well with a dark brown head and coal black body like Danzig would like. Aroma is all roasted barley with strong coffee on the nose, a bit of rum rye. Boneless wings y’all! Flavour is soft roasted barley with a huge sour hop bomb that screws the thing up. Like, cloying sour lemon on the back of an okay stout. Just a terrible combo that defies logic, and is far worse than any beer I laid my lips on in Venezuela. Thursday, January 4, 2018
DeanF	1.6 Shiretown La Vie Continue Bottle with a generic label, the only indication of style is a checkmark on the side. Pours with decent head but not too thick and got an orange muddy body. It smells of old man farts and rotting garbage, like wow, totally off the mark. Flavour is banana pushed through by heavy carbonation. There is really nothing to recommend here, the other beer from them I just tried was vastly better. Thursday, January 4, 2018

DeanF	3 Shiretown Siren's T'ale This has got a very white head, sits stark on top of a rather red body of brown-ness that is more red than brown, but still brown, but then more red. And such. The aroma is a dirty amber ale, some tire fresh off the pavement and garbage leering from the dumpster fire in the alley, charcoal perhaps and just a bit of rotten vegetable, oh yeah, perhaps musty in all the wrong ways. The flavour is caramel and just a bit of malt candy with a modest finish. Unexciting, perhaps. A few of these would go well on a friday night as they are not overbearing either way; it's simply an amber ale that can be enjoyed. And what's wrong with that, really? I just hope the girls in Charlo at least pay these brewers some respect, this kind of work is God's work and deserves your attention. Cough. Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Spab	3 Shiretown Hops On For Nowhere IPA 500 ml bottle from ANBL (6.5 ABV, perhaps this is a new version). Pours a cloudy amber colour with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is caramel, herbs and some citrus. Flavour has lots of caramel malt character, some spicy/herbal notes, rough graininess and a bit of citric happiness. Average plus body. A little raw. Hidden_Pooch	3.6 Shiretown Big Brown Ale Sadly this brewery no longer exists. It had some very unique twists on your everyday styles. Pours a dark brown with tiny white head. Aroma is of pine, roasted malts, and toffee. Tastes of chocolate, toffee, big piny dry hops, and nutty malt. Has a medium body with average carbonation and smooth dry hop finish that tastes of pine and resin. Saturday, April 23, 2016
Bierdimpfe	3.2 Shiretown Big Brown Ale Opaque dark brown, almost black color, with no visible activity. Creamy light brown 1.5 finger head lasting around 5 minutes with poor legs. Aromas and flavors of toffee, molasses, coffee, cocoa, herbal spices. Faint toffee smell. Strong sweet taste with a bitter super earthy feel, almost like drinking dirt, but the sweetness creates a balance that makes it enjoyable. Milky creamy full body with faint carbonation. Balanced finish ending with a slightly dry and earthy bitter, hoppy spicy feel on the tongue. Overall a good craft; nice flavors and body, while lacking a little freshness from the powerful earthy feel. Thursday, March 24, 2016
Bierdimpfe	3.7 Shiretown Siren's T'ale Veiled pure copper color. Beige foamy 2 finger head, lasting 3 - 4 minutes, with strong legs. Faint aromas of bitter citrus with a hint of toffee. Well balanced flavors of malt with some lemony orange taste, slightly spicy with a clove like feel, ending with a toasty, smoky, caramel taste. Creamy medium body with prickly carbonation. Long and of average strength finish, ending with a slightly dry and chalky bitter mouth coat aftertaste, but not to intense. Overall : Well balanced flavors, easy to drink and fresh, but a little too bitter and spicy for my taste having a heavy tongue effect. Wednesday, November 25, 2015
Bierdimpfe	3.3 Shiretown Blonde du Quai Veiled gold, almost amber color. Nice 2 fingers foamy head, but not very persistent. Poor lacing. Strong sharp grainy and lemony aroma and flavors, with herbal hops and a hint of dark fruit. Smoky earthy finish. Light body, dry and extra strong bitter spicy mouth coat, too much for a blonde. Overall it’s a blonde that feels like a tripel because of unbalanced flavors. A little off and need more freshness. Tuesday, November 3, 2015

BrewGoblin	2.3 Shiretown Big Brown Ale Egad! This was just absolutely repugnant. I grimaced. I don’t know if something is off with this but whatever is going on here it ain’t coalescing with moi. It looks okay except for all of the unappealing light coloured sediment in this cloudy brown beer. Decent head with good lacing. It smells like it will be okay, notes of nuts, toasted whole wheat, caramel and roasted coffee. The the taste...some sharp and bitter, acrid and acerbic tang that is just brutal. I really enjoyed the other two Shiretown offerings in bottles but this stinks. A metallic coffee-from-hell taste coupled with rancid toffee is all that lingers. Jinkeys! Monday, December 29, 2014

BrewGoblin	4.1 Shiretown Blonde du Quai Dang me! The ol’ Golden/Blond category, where nothing is as it seems. This was a really good beer. A peachy haze pours out of the bottle leaving a proud ivory head atop. Citrus, apricot, papaya, honey and wheat. Taste is of sweet and fruit wheat with a floral, bitter finish. Hidden_Pooch	4.3 Shiretown Blonde du Quai Both Shiretown’s I have had so far have blown my expectations of what I thought they were gonna be. Poured a hazy peach colour with a small frothy head. Aroma was of floral hops, citrus, apricot, mango, and honey. Tasted of coriander, wheat, and kind of a sweet orangey flavour. All of it was bang on. Had a big mouth feel, and was surprisingly chewy. Had average carbonation with a nice bitter aftertaste. I would love to try more Shiretown or continuously quaff the ones I have already had. Wednesday, August 27, 2014

AlainG	3.4 Shiretown Siren's T'ale Une rousse limpide, une coiffe respectable qui, par contre, s’évanouit dans les profondeurs. De belles traces glissent sur la parois du verre. Des arômes de grains, d’épices et fruités nous parviennent aux narines, tel un souffle, qu’on se demande si nous l’avons vraiment senti. Y’a des odeurs de sucre brûlé, ou encore de melon d’eau. C’est bien étrange en bouche, ce que j’avais bien senti aussi. C’est un peu comme une gomme, X, disons, moderne, celles qui ont pleins de trucs dedans pour rafraîchir l’haleine, mentholée, glacée, etc..., avec certaines particularités herbacées. Aroma is lemony with wheat and grass also both prominent and an emerging spiciness. Flavour is firstly of lemon with some underlying wheat and a solid grassy, surprisingly spicy character. BrewGoblin	3.8 Shiretown Siren's T'ale Amber Ale seems like such a vague category, where all the beers that are on the fringe of one or two styles and border this style all end up anyhow. If I hadn’t of went on RateBeer out of curiousity, I would not have a label for this. It’s a somewhat nebulous ruddy brown that is malt forward with biscuits, leather, honey and caramel wafting up. For one it didn’t say what type of beer it was on the label and two, it had a flavour I just couldn’t pinpoint what it was. It poured a hazy brown. Aroma was of caramel, toffee, light pine, and floral. Tasted of caramel, nuts, malts, earth, and sweet tea, I think. Had a medium body with low carbonation. jercraigs	3.4 Shiretown Blonde du Quai 2014-03-25. Crisp dark yellow body with a nice white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, grassy with notes of lemon and pale malt. Flavour is similar, grassy with lemony notes over a pale malt core. It finishes a bit dry and tart which I suspect is a sign of the fact that the bottle has lingered in our cellar several months but the overall impression is actually quite refreshing and pleasant. This was a nice orange golden colour, slightly hazy, with a lacy white ring. Juicy, fruity aroma. Tart fruity palate, refreshing, almost wheaty character.
