Rogues’ Harbor Belgian Sour 3.5
Another in a long list of Rogue Ales I had last night. This one I would have cashed in on for my free birthday pint, but alas, it was too expensive for them to give away for free.

kramer
Rogues’ Harbor Route 34 Red Ale 3
Tap. Pours a clear copper body with a small fizzy off-white head, zero visible carbonation. The nose is slightly sweet with some toasted and caramel malts, light floral hops. The flavor is rather bland and boring with some slightly sweet toasted malt, light English hops. Comes across as an Irish Ale perhaps? A little too husky and grainy on the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied and thin with soft fizzy carbonation. Very basic and boring, nothing stands out about this.

kramer
Rogues’ Harbor Belgian Sour 3.4
Tap. Pours a crystal clear light gold body with a minimal fizzy bright white head. The nose is slightly sour with some acetic notes and a little bit of stinky cheese notes. The flavor is lightly sour with some light vinegar and green apple tartness. Not a whole lot of depth though, very thin. Mouthfeel is thin and bone dry with fizzy spritzy carbonation, some lingering vinegar notes. Not convinced that this is the intended outcome with this beer, like maybe this was just an infection that worked out OK for them.

kramer
Rogues’ Harbor Summer Wheat 3.1
Tap. Pours a very clear and thin looking straw gold body with a small frothy white head, crystal clear. The nose is very minimal with just a light wheat note and zero yeast influence. The flavor is just as light, but there’s a slight perfume like kick on the finish that adds a bit of interestingness. A slight earthiness as well on the back end. Mouthfeel is very light bodied and thin with soft fizzy carbonation. Boring, but it’s actually one of the better efforts from this brewery.

kramer
Rogues’ Harbor East Shore Pale Ale 3.1
Tap. Pours a clear copper body with a small fizzy white head that fell to a thin film. The nose is light citrusy hops with a little caramel and crystal malts. The flavor is lightly bitter, but the sweetness is pretty well kept in check. Fairly solid, but there’s a bit of light diacetly on the finish that emerges as it warms. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Short bitter finish. Meh, below average for the style, but drinkable.

kramer
Rogues’ Harbor Cayuga Cream Ale 2.8
Tap. Pours a clear light gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is slightly sweet with bready malt and a bit of an off note of green apple. The flavor is pretty light, still that weird, almost chemical like, note on the finish that must be throwing off that odd apple like note in the aroma. Little to no bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a slight doughy clinginess. Not very clean or crisp this one, very nondeScript.
