Indie Alehouse Cuban Missile Crisis
On tap at Indie. Pours black with a light tan head. Sweet cocoa aroma, spirit-like, almost tart in a way. Flavor has roasty coffee and cocoa, smoky, oak. The rum gives it a bit of a candy-like, almost maple-y quality. Very good, and surprising complexity after my mother commented that all she tasted was alcohol. Not to everyoneís taste, clearly!

Indie Alehouse Ritual Madness
On tap at Indie. Pours a deep red with a white ring for a head. Sour raspberry aroma. Sour, tart raspberry flavor, very tasty, with perhaps a touch of caramel. I like it a lot, and there was definitely a bottle coming home with me once I knew they were for sale.

Indie Alehouse X Indie 88 - Jackpot Cherry Saison
On tap at Indie. A clear golden amber pour. Yeasty aroma, slightly of bubble gum. Bubble gum yeasty flavor with a bit of citrus and red fruit, becoming a bit more fruity as I go on. For me, it could use a bit more of the cherry, but itís decent.

Indie Alehouse Ritual Madness
2016-03-28. Red tinged brown body, near headless. Aroma has prominent barrel influence but in a way that works very nicely - wood, fruit and lactic notes blend nicely. Flavour is similar, the lactic sourness takes the lead followed by a balanced melange of wood, vinous cherry fruit and moderate alcohol. Warms the throat but the alcohol is deceptively restrained on the palate. Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft to low carbonation seems to suit it. A small glass goes a long way but it is rather good. 7-8/3-4/8-9/3-4/16-18 On tap at Indie Alehouse, Toronto.

Rating 7000! [Draught at brewpub] Man, it seems like it took forever to get to this milestone but finally, here I am. I didnít really have any "milestone" beers on hand so instead I chose a beer from my local, and since Iím here all the time, it seemed apropos. Here goes: Pours a dark brown with amber hues and a small frothy diminishing off-white head. Aroma (7+) of sour fruit, dark malt, a hint of chocolate and some wood. Flavour is tart and fruity followed by dark malt. Alcohol well hidden. Medium bodied. Pretty dead on style and really good, well done!

Fruity and pleasant. The mango was very subtle, with a trace on the finish. Very mild, nice refreshing brew, I expected more mango, or spice,

Indie Alehouse Rainmaker (Coffee)
[Cask at brewpub] Pours a very dark amber-brown with a small long-lasting frothy tan head. Aroma has lots of coffee first followed by roasted malt, light hops, lactic notes and a touch of vanilla -- a bit like cold coffee. Nice flavour of coffee, roasted malt and light leafy hops, -- simple but nice. A touch watery but it is cask. Average bodied. Really good, would be amazing on draught.

Indie Alehouse Rainmaker
Draught at Craft. Had this at brunch with my wife and a friend, so I didnít take formal notes, but it was pretty much bang on style for a dry stout - ruby-black body, tan head, roasty aroma and flavour with notes of cocoa and dark roast malt. The only thing that throws it a little bit is a backing fruity note that seemed a bit out of place. Otherwise, very nice stuff.

Can of version brewed at Sawdust City. Dark brown with small tan head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma and flavour, with supporting notes of vanilla, marshmallow and graham cracker. Medium bodied with nice creaminess on the palate. Not too sweet, especially considering the ingredients. Quite well done.

Indie Alehouse Zombie Apocalypse (Cocoa Nibs and Coconut)
500 mL bottle. To me, they are basically mimicking barrel-aging with the coconut. Fairly successfully. Thecocoa nibs make their presence felt as the beer warms, adding some depth to an otherwise average imperial stout.

Indie Alehouse Zombie Apocalypse (Cocoa Nibs and Coconut)
500 ml bottle from the brewery. Nose has a very sharp dark almost burnt chocolate smell from the cocoa nibs. Itís so intense it almost smells artificial and was initially off putting. Coconut and is in the background. Big chewy mouthfeel. The taste is very rich chocolatey, not much coconut detected. Balanced bitterness and a lingering finish. I like it.

Indie Alehouse Sunkicked
(On tap @ Indie, Jan 12 2016) Pours hazy pale orange with a large fading white head and no lace. Aroma packed with citrusy spirit notes, lime and orange with a bit of acidity, sweet white grape, pale malts, a little bit of tequila character, light touches of leathery wood. Palate is sweetish and citrus heavy with a bit of acidity from the top, lots of mandarin with some white grapefruit and lime, a bit of vinous sweetness and spirit notes. Barrel character builds from the middle through the finish, wood and a bit of tequila. Finish is dry with mandarin acidity and a bit of bitterness from wood and spirits. Breadiness in the aftertaste. Medium full body with average carbonation. This was a pleasant surprise to me, didnít know it was blood orange when drinking but the citrus character was really nice and the barrels seemed more complementary than overbearing. Very enjoyable.

Indie Alehouse Little Jerry
(On tap @ Indie, Jan 12 2016) Pours hazy medium gold with a big lingering white head and lace. Aroma is aromatic and leafy, like walking into a greenhouse, some kiwi and citrus pith. Flavour is fairly standard session IPA, leafy, grassy, pine needle and pith with some astringency and clinging lean bitterness. A slight bit of fruitiness and sweetness to a dry biscuit malt core. Finish is dry, moderately bitter with chlorophyll and pine. Lightish body with fairly light carb. It is a decent session IPA, but it falls foul to what I usually donít like about them - a lack of malt and unbalanced "green" bitterness.

(On tap @ Indie, Jan 12 2016) Pours hazy burnt orange with a large off white head and lace. Aroma of caramel, light blood orange notes, nutmeg, assorted spicebox, weak. Palate of crackery malt with slight sweetness, herbs, soap and some winter spices. A bit of fruity sweet water profile. Finish is fairly light with slight bitterness, a bit of grain and dusty yeast. Light to medium body with average carb. I found there was very little going on here. Quite uninteresting.

Indie Alehouse Broken Hipster
(On tap @ Indie, Jan 12 2016) Hazy straw gold with an average white head and lace. Aroma of yeasty white bread and wheat cracker, coriander, floral, orange peel, a bit of sweet bubblegum ester and lurking banana. Floral, herbal, fresh grass heavy palate with a wheat cracker malt base. Soft orange fruitiness in the middle, grassy finish with slight grain. Fairly dry, soft herbal bitterness in the aftertaste. Light body with creamy carb. Totally serviceable to-style wit, not usually super exciting but decently executed.
