Indie Alehouse Mixed Berry IPA
2016-08-05. Hazy orange body with a modest off white head. 3+ Aroma is fruity, mixed berries, and light yeast. Flavour has a lot of mixed berry fruit as advertised, clashes a bit with some of the underlying green hop notes. Average bodied palate, soft to low carbonation. Alternates between very enjoyable and not something I really want more of. 7/3/7/3/14 On cask at Indie Alehouse, Toronto.

Indie Alehouse Unheard Melodies
2016-08-05. Black body with a modest beige head. 3+ Aroma is quite fruity, lightly funky, plum and grape notes. 7+ Flavour is lightly tangy, lightly fruity and has muted oak undertones. Average bodied palate, light carbonation. Interesting take on the style, I quite liked it but I’m not sure I’d want more than one in a sitting which brings it down just slightly for me. 7/3/8/3/16+ On tap at Indie Alehouse, Toronto.

2016-08-05. Hazy pastel yellow body, nice white head. 3+ Aroma of melon and melon rind, muted. Flavour is refreshingly lightly sour throughout, nice melon character presents as almost more of a green melon character to me rather than watermelon. Smooth average bodied palate, soft effervescent carbonation. Very nice - I ordered a second glass. 7/4/8/3/15-16 On tap at Indie Alehouse, Toronto.

Indie Alehouse Down by the Bay
On tap at Wvrst. Pours a hazy golden colour with solid white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma has watermelon and a bit of an odd sour note that I can’t really describe but that doesn’t do it for me. Sourness seems more muted in the flavour which has pleasant watermelon note. Body on the lighter side. Ok.

Bottle from the brewery. Apple juice golden colour with a slight haze and nice white cap. Aroma of lemon loaf dough - sweet and yeasty but with a nice tart edge. Flavour follows in the same vein, sweet-tart lemon drops over a yeasty backnote. Light and crisp body. Very refreshing.

Indie Alehouse Takes Two to Mango (Strawberry)
[Cask at brewpub] Pours a cloudy pale yellow-gold with a spare to no head. No lacing. Nice aroma (7+), exactly as described, mild Saison with light strawberry. Slightly watery flavour, but easy to drink, follows aroma. Interestingly it has a bitter finish, perhaps from the herbs. Average bodied. Enjoyable.

[Draught at brewpub] Pours a dark amber-brown with a spare diminishing frothy off-white head. Nice aroma of malt and red wine first followed by some sourness and wood. Flavour: Wow, that’s awesome: dark malt, brett, wood, dark fruit and red wine and an average bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. I LOVED it.

2016-06-17. Murky dark pastel yellow body small white head looks like orange juice. 3+ Aroma is quite grassy and green, green cucumber character. Indie Alehouse Wit’ner Toque
Tap at Bar Volo. Reddish brown with smallish light beige head. The aroma is fruity, oranges, brown sugar and caramel, somewhat smoky, dark fruits, vague and indistinct spiciness. Tastes more like a random Dark Ale or Dunkel rather than a Wit. Flat on the palate with not exactly the refreshing Wit character I was hoping. Confusing but in itself not undrinkable.

Very pale straw colour with a thin fast-fading head. The nose is tart and lactic with some hints of spice and green apple. Lean bodied (leaning to watery) with a grassy finish in the back. It’s a fairly quaffable brew but it doesn’t really get me going.

Tap at Indie Alehouse in Toronto. Sweetish, roasty, nuts and cocoa. Body lightish medium. Some faint bitterness in finish, also ashy dry. A classic, albeit a bit too sweet and low on the sourish roasty black bread crust I look for in a Porter. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Indie Alehouse Instigator Pale Ale
Tap at Indie Alehouse in Toronto. Hazy amber with scattered off-white head leaving strong lace. Really sweet, dried and sugared tropical fruits, peach and mango, a bit cactusy even, aroma and flavour. Sweet with a mojito and cactus bitterness - this works really well together with the tropical fruits character. Doesn’t appear as too mawkish sweet luckily. Nice crispiness. Lovely brew, I’m a sucker for stuff like this.

Tap at Indie Alehouse in Toronto. Murky orange with small off-white head that drops fast. Vague fruity aroma, same flavour, with some toffee. A bit watery, lightish medium body, carbonation thin and crisp. In a way pretty enjoyable, refreshing and crisp, sessionable. I wouldn’t say it’s very close to the pub Bitters of Britain though...

[Cask at brewpub] Pours a hazy orange-copper with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Tons of lacing. Aroma and flavour of hops -- resiny, fruity and herbal -- along with fruity malt in the back and some strawberries. Medium bodied. On tap at Indie. Pours black with a light tan head. Sweet cocoa aroma, spirit-like, almost tart in a way. Flavor has roasty coffee and cocoa, smoky, oak. The rum gives it a bit of a candy-like, almost maple-y quality. Very good, and surprising complexity after my mother commented that all she tasted was alcohol. Not to everyone’s taste, clearly!
