b3shine	3.7 Mystic Saison - Chardonnay Barrel Fermented 750 ml bottle to stemless wine glass, shared with ith Mrs (2016 vintage). Looks good; a somewhat cloudy golden orange with white head. Smells good too; yeast, funk, and chardonnay alongside a mildly to moderately semi-sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but less robust. Mouthfeel is medium light-bodied and mildly bitter. KevinReddirt	3.8 Mystic / Backlash The Null In these unsettled times you have to pick your moments. I will do that tonight with 750 ml bottle of The Null found a month or so back at Susan's in Santa Fe, NM. I have had numerous other quadrupels with barrel aging. This will be my first that is smoked. Almost four years old, it has a nice pop to it when the cork came out. Making the pour into my Chimay glass a dark cola-brown, sort of like La Trappe Quadrupel, along with a consistent skim of egg shell brown foam.I have a smell, ripe fruit, slightly musty and spice. I have a taste, the smoke is obvious but not intrusive, dark plums, raisins, bread and malt. It is better than I expected, glad to have located a bottle. Saturday, March 21, 2020

Appearance is clear dark amber-mahogany-rosé with no sparkle, no head, no lacing. Aroma is strong booze/vinous, honey, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit. Taste is up front strong booze/vinous--almost medicinal--with second half vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, oak. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin, syrupy texture, soft carbonation with comforting alcohol warmth from the mouth down the esophagus with finish as taste. Overall, I'm not sure I appreciate this style as much as others. Sweetness is borderline cloying though the flavors do work harmoniously together and the experience is overall pleasant. The aroma is sweet, tangy, sugary, fizzy cola bottles, earthy, toasted malt, coffee grounds and wood. The taste is dry, roasty, umami, cacao, earthy, leather, plum, date, prune, umami, wee alcohol and earth with a drying finish. Medium to full body and fine carbonation. Filthy and fun. Concealer	3.6 Mystic Saturation - Double Dry Hopped Can. Thanks ModeEngage! Hazy yellow gold with a large, thin, creamy, off white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, pine, biscuit, and herbal notes. Flavor is the same with big citrus up front followed by bready and biscuity notes and finishes with some pine and herbal. Flavour is largely Brett with an earthyness, and bready malt. Light to medium bodied, good carbobation, and a mild sweetness with a light bitterness. mcberko	3.4 Mystic Vapor Ray 2016 vintage. 750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is pretty much all brett, which seems to have eaten up everything else. Flavour is huge on the brett, with earthy notes, some light farty notes, and bready malt. This is all brett at this point, but it's not particularly complex or clean. Arômes de résine, ananas, pêche et zeste d'orange, malt un peu âcre et herbacé, compote de pamplemousse. En bouche, ananas et orange, pêche juteuse, abricot. Suite plus maltée où se joint du pamplemousse un peu séché et finalement une résine boisé. Arrière-goût plutôt âcre pouvant venir de l'alcool. Texture légère huileuse, corps moyen.
