Cross Bay Zenith 3.4
Cask at Benk’s, Leek. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, melon, some lemon, a little pine, straw, slight grain and grassy hops. Taste is smiling of melon, some grapefruit, a little lemon, straw, slight grain and grassy, floral hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, floral hop bitterness. Another decent English IPA. Subtle citrus flavour with a pleasant floral bitterness. Ok.

Cross Bay Morecambe’s Sunshine 3.3
Cask at The Station Inn, Ribblehead. Clear golden shade. White head and lacing. Slightly dry, biscuity malts, light caramel. Above all there is a pleasant lemon fruitiness to it. Slightest prickle of hops. A good summer quaffer.

Bottle from The Ship In A Bottle, Liverpool. Poured a golden amber colour with an average sized off white head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, with caramel, citrus and grapefruit. Taste has a light sweetness and bitterness. Light body, texture is a touch thin but quite smooth. Average carbonation. Finish is a light hoppy bitterness. Enjoyed this, a good session ale.

Cask at the Earl of Beaconsfield, Cambridge. Mid-gold, a bit of head with quite a substantial amount of white lacing. Spruce and grapefruit aroma. Taste is lovely. A fruity bitter with a slight candied sweet edge which turns to astringency in the finish. Perfectly kept and well-balanced. A good cask bitter.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Straw with a tight cream head; sweet grainy aroma; smooth grainy body with some tropical fruit, and an unusal, dry, deep, grainy bitterness that lingers. A satisfying pint.

Cross Bay Halo 3.3
Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. Gold with a white head and a light sparkle. Pleasant sweet lemony hops, with a moderate dry bitterness and an easy going mouthfeel. Refreshing and goes down very easily. Nothing outstanding, but it’s a decent summer session ale, could drink a lot of this!

Cross Bay Wolfing Hour 2.9
Bottle from Lancaster Wines. Pours mahogany with a fading cream head. The taste is a little odd. Woody vanilla alongside coffee gives it a bit of a custard flavour. There’s light spice too. Not keen.

Cask at The Falcon, Battersea on 13 Jun 2012. Poured a murky copper colour, with a scummy white head. Aroma of sulphur, cooked fruit and wet grass. Flat malt in the flavour, some grain and brown sugar. Finish was slightly metallic, with bready malt and hay.

Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Golden with a white foam. Served warm! Aromas are biscuit and grain with pepper. Lemon with strong off-homebrew notes. Flavours are sweet lemon with grain and bad off notes. Not served well and perhaps not a great brew, either.

Cask at the British Flag, Macclesfield. I have no idea when or why I was there. If you’d ask me I would have swore blind I’d never been in. Must have been a good night. Dark amber with a thick off white head, didn’t last long. Some dark fruit, malts, caramel. It’s easy to drink just wasn’t much flavour I was into.

Cask at White Cross Beer festival 2014. Dark orange gold with a thin white head. Nose is pungent - over-ripe oranges and floral notes. Crushed grasses and spice. Smooth drink inparting ripe oranges, a touch of mango and a little malt. Some light easy spice makes the finish special. Pleasant.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours clear, deep gold with a foamy white head. Nose of light herbs, hints of pine, light bread. Medium sweet flavor with bready malts, dry caramel and light, spicy pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the end, more bread, toasted sugars. Novel, nice.

Cask at the Victoria Inn, Rugby, 30/10/13. Clear golden with a good sized white head. Nose is fruity, light vinegar strokes, malts. Taste comprises cereals, pale malts, light fruit, pinch of spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finish. Smelling this I thought it was perhaps off, however no sign of the vinegar in the taste. Mediocre GB affair.

3rd Oct 2013: Fighting Cocks, Oakengates: hand-pulled half. Nice golden body, fairly thin white head. Mild hop aroma without being ’hoppy’. Fruity notes as it warmed in the glass. The taste was a pleasant blend with the hops just about leading the way over the semi-sweetening malts: I liked it.

On cask at Greyhound Inn, Coventry - Hazy golden body, thin lasting white head. Light hoppy aroma, nothing too distinguishing. Seemed more in tune with a golden ale with the light fruity taste, very little afterwards, an okay beer.

Cask conditioned at Telford’s Warehouse, Chester. Gold with white head. Malty, sharp, quite lagery initially, thin on the palate with a bread crust character. I didn’t really get the hop, it was so thin. Pretty average.
