3.6 Vashon British Invasion Enjoyed on cask at Vashon Brewing. Copper appearance, rocky off white foam head. Smooth taste, notes of caramel and mixed berries. Slightly rich taste upnfront, with a bolder, more bitter finish. Bready malt nose. Solid addition to the style here. Not one I expected to find on my first trip to Vashon Island. 3.4 Vashon Hazed and Confused Draft pour pint enjoyed at Vashon Brewing. Juicy, bright golden orange appearance with plenty of foam head and lacing. Aroma is some orange fruit, ripe, with some moderate bitter, zesty finish. Cool flavor, has a nice hop influence despite low ibus. Drunks smooth. Biscuit malts in the background. Interesting hazy. Enjoyable brew. Saturday, July 16, 2022

3.4 Vashon Burton Blonde Draft pour pint enjoyed at Vashon Brewing. Clean golden. Appearance, patchy lasting foam head. First visit! Aroma isbsome straw grains, wort. Lots of matching flavor. Grassy and straw grains, subtle hop influence, cool, slightly creamy finish. Good for the style in my book. Saturday, July 16, 2022

2.4 Vashon Summer Perle Kölsch Tan-bodied with a decent enough head. The aroma is slight grain and heavy on the tannins. Imperceptible hops. The body is also moderately grainy, but too much of a tannic wash to create and acerbic, unpleasant finish. Monday, December 31, 2018

3.3 Vashon Day of the Dead Red Red-amber body with a ring of head, but flat body. Nice leafy and grain nose. Similarly, the body is of honeyed grain and soft hops--really nicely stated red ale that is balanced, and delicately flavored. Tuesday, April 18, 2017

2.1 Vashon Inspiration IPA Draft at The Hardware Store in Uptown Vashon. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white head. Intensely, defiantly buttery nose. Slippery slick medium body with lively carb. Toasty caramel and then a toasty buttery mid palate, like someone is making a roux and stopped to pour some in a glass. Then finishes kinda sweet, like a popcorn-flavored Jolly Rancher or something. I know little breweries don’t have the advantages of time and resources that more established places have, but diacetyl is one of the easiest brewing flaws to fix, and one of the first ones they teach you how to troubleshoot. We had other beers here that showed no trace of it, so it wasn’t the lines. We also tried the saison down the street, and it was shot through with DMS. Probably time to go back to the drawing board here. Sunday, May 29, 2016

3.7 Vashon Solstice Stout Black-bodied with a decent enough cocoa head. Full-bodied aroma, hearty coffee with some doses of chocolate and a nice complexity of spicier notes and smoke. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, yet quaffable. Nice complexity of coffee roast, chocolate, easy-going smokyness, and perhaps a touch of anise. Solid Thursday, April 14, 2016
