Bottle. A hazy yellow beer with a small white head. Bready, lightly lemony aroma with a faint spiced touch. Bread dough, lemon notes, piney hints, a vague bitterness and a fine sourness in the flavor. Medium to thin bodywith a smooth carbonation. Lasting doughy and lemony finish. Straight forward and a bit boring this one. 171022

33cl bb07/2018 (!) from en route from a Coop, Trondheim. - Raison d'acquisition: brewed in/at a landmark building in "Norge's eneste gravitasjionsbryggeri" - really? Caught my interest if this brewery should be indeed a new Norwegian Bøgedal relative. - - Kort: distinctive, yet dirty malty APA that reminds me of a malty Wallonian saison like Voisin. - Aroma: Malty notes of natural caramels as of wet chestnut and stoved red apples along with a whiff of peach and orange. Flavour: same dirtground maltiness interspersed by wild aka unclean metallic and sulphurous fruitpeel notes (quince, stewed quince) that seem to be not quite brett or lacto, but definitely not something that can be entirely purposeful. Not overly bitter or hop-aromatic, landing this odd beer between many styles, in the category of "oddly memorable" and probably on its way to become cleaner & forgettable.

33cl bb03/2018, Meny Trondheim Lade. - Intrigued by the "Norges eneste gravitasjonsbryggeri" on the label... - Kort: bit rough & raw barley-sweet plain ale with a naughty buttery yeast edge. - Aroma of sweet grains like buttered popcorn going into caramelised banana, with character more than as a flaw. Plain, malt-forward and honey-heavy grain flavours like soggy golden cornflakes interlaced by that buttery banana strain in such a way that you start questioning both the beer and yourself in a mutually inspiring, near-Bohemian way. Could be a thick saison-Helles - quite raw and rural in a way that just might be the next big thing in clean, gentrified "Craft".

Bottle at SOT, Trondheim. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, burned wood, tar, licorice and some black currents and alcohol. The flavour is well-roasted with ash, dark chocolate, rye bread and coffee. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, medium to full body and medium bitterness. A roasted and nice IS that is a bit fresh in my opinion.
