Pedernales Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils 3.2
Gonzales, Tx - H-E-B Grocery Store, 12 oz can. Dark golden, heavy pour, quickly fading off-white head. Aroma has a sweet bready essence to it, hints of honey. Flavor is solid, some hefty honey sweetness, a bit of dough, a touch of Saaz hops light bitterness. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. Does in a pinch.

Pedernales Classic IPA 2.2
Aroma is stale cardboard, slightly sweet. Light amber in color....small coarse white head. Taste was terrible for an IPA...no punch at all. Tastes like an IPA youíd get from a shit brewpub....adjunct grain, hints of hops, maybe apples. Ironically, today, the day I drank this, I was at the funeral home for my recently deceased grandmother of 97 years. That funeral home sits across the street from this brewery. Lorine Bruns RIP...you would have not cared for this beer. I love you Omie.

Pedernales Lobo Texas Lager 2.5
Pretty wimpy, grassy with notes of apple on the nose. Clear, straw colored with a coarse white head. Taste was thin, watery, slight levels of adjunct tasting malt, some mild hop bitterness. Not much here.

Pedernales Lobo Negro 3.6
Poured brown with mahagony edges, semi course beige head. Nutty aroma, roasted almonds and such. Tasted exactly as expected, light coffee, nuts, some cocoa with a hint of hop bitterness easing into the finish...straight forward, not complex, but not at all bad. Perfect for a cool Texas night with a stew or venison chili indeed.

Bottle. Pours brown thin off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is mild sweet closer to a dark chocolate than milk chocolate. Had a medium level of bitterness in the finish of this medium bodied beer. Well balanced overall and pretty good.

Pedernales Kristall Weiss 3.8
Yellow brew with decent head but clear. Smells of wheat and spice and the taste is basically the same. Has many of the same characteristics of other weizen brews but there is something setting this one apart from others. Maybe it is the Krystall.

Pedernales Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils 2.6
Almost no aroma, good rich golden appearance. A bit disappointed that it is a MILD hint of honey beer. An excelent drink as a casual beer but not at 9 bucks sixer cans. I really wanted a bigger honey flavor that just isnít there.

Pedernales Classic Hefe-Weizen 2.7
Bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy yellow, with a small white head that persists. Nose is a very faint aroma of esters and yeast, cloves and banana. Taste is very faint, with some yeast notes, and is similar to the nose. Watery. OK if thereís nothing better, and a definite step up from macro adjunct swill.

Pedernales Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils 3.4
Crisp cereal, saltines, sourdough bread, and some caramelized sugar in the aroma provide a backbone to gentle, mildly floral hops. The taste is a clean, cerealy bitter with a hoppy, dry finish that is softened, at last, by a smack of honey that I rather enjoy.

Schertz, Tx.- H.E.B. grocery store - 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, decently thick khaki colored head. Aroma has some light chocolate accents, a bit of nuttiness. Flavor had some nice light chocolate undertones, some nuttiness, just a hint of earthy topsoil. Thick enough mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised.

Pedernales Oktoberfest 3.7
Originally rated on 10/25/14. Bought a single of this yesterday... Aromas are nutty, real nutty with some toasty notes as well. Standard deep amber colored body with a decent off white cap that leaves some spotty lace on the way down. Flavor mirrors the aroma, toasted muts and lots of it, which was actually kinda good. Overall this is a decent marzen, its flavorful and not watery so give it a shot..

Pedernales Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils 3.6
Originally rated on 11/15/14. Aroma is all honey, Nice golden orange body with a ringed head that leaves some really nice lace. Flavor is about like the aroma, mostly honey some bitterness mid way through but the grassy hops associated with pilsners is missing. Still a drinkable beer though.

Pedernales Classic Hefe-Weizen 2.4
It has the generic taste of a Hefeweizen, but I personal feel like it is missing several key factors (like a strong yeast presence/flavor) Very little carbonation and lacing. It looks like a lager, as in it is pale yellow in color.

As pale lagers go, this one pretty good. Goes down easy while floating in the pool. Actual hints of grain, yeast and faint bitterness.

Pedernales Classic Hefe-Weizen 2.7
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained white head, over a slightly hazy, effervescent, yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is cereal malts, light banana, minimal clove, no hops.....taste is light colored fruits (pear, apple) light citrus (lemon) hints of clove, minimal banana/bubblegum, no hops, balance to the yeast......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, high carbonation. While this meets the light end of the style, it is really quite low in yeast based esters and phenols. Perhaps a different yeast or fermentation temperature increase would give them a boost. Easy to drink, but a bit strange. Not to many domestic Krystall Weiss available in Texas, and any coming over the water arenít that fresh.

Judging it by the style it is a wonderful beer. Easy going, and a great porch crusher. It doesnt have that "Steely" Pilsner finish which I personally enjoy.

Pedernales Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils 3.5
Can, thanks George999! Very malty aroma at first, but gently gives way to nice honey notes that you can almost taste. Pours clear golden colored with a thin white head with good retention and some lacing. Starts like a typical pils with a lot of malt flavor and crisp pils body. Finishes smooth with the honey coming to the forefront before ending clean. Nice, refreshing pils with the added benefit of honey.
