cheap	2.8 Straub Brite OK, picked up a case of these at JR's. 19$ with a 10$ rebate, that's 38 cents a can. Eye is crystal clear and very light pale. Has a nice big foamy head. Taste is fresh easy and refreshing, it certainly is quite light. Very good level of carbonation. This just a simple plain old clean well behaved drinkable lager. Right in line with the original straub lager. Some hints of hay and a simple fun repeatable beer to drink. Quaffable. Thursday, May 5, 2022

Cakes	3.4 Straub Hop Blaster Twelve ounce can - purchased at the shop - at the brewery. A surprisingly good entry to the I.P.A. field here. Very frothy, well balanced carbonation and a good mix of hops. Kind of a cloudy darj gold color. Mouthfeel is the strongest point- medium to thick for an IPA- a floral nose and a nice taste. OCCASION: would have loved to take part in the online Oktoberfest tasting, but a good, busy day leads to me settling for a beer I have meant to rate for more than a decade... GLASSWARE: Man Skirt willibecker... pours a dark amber, chestnut body that demonstrates a steady stream of upward-moving bubbles.... its head is off-white, creamy, and staunchly quarter-fingered... toffee, sweet cracker malts, some caramel, a bit of metallic ping, and a basement nuttiness that seems to define the traditional Pennsylvania lager... in some ways, this smells like home, my early drinking days and candy all at once... its first sip is thin, slightly oily, smooth, and short on its finish... simple in its consistency, at 4.1% ABV, equally easy on the senses... nutty, with toffee, light caramel, some metallic elements, and a bready finish... in a way, this is a nice, slightly more flavorful version of the usual adjunct lager... When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Frank	4.5 Straub American Lager When packaged, I always find this beer in horrible states of disrepair, which is a shame. It's a treat fresh. cheap	2.4 Peter Straub PA Wilds Berry Pink can as pictured for fifty cents in a fruity variety pack. Pour is a slight pink shaded clear pale with a big foaming head. Notes of berry nose permeates the olfactory, smells good, eve from afar. Tho better than the other fruity beers in this variety pack, it initially comes across like any other average dull fruit beer. Not bad, and better than expected, but it yet leaves much to be desired. I'm hoping I can pawn some of these straub fruit beers off on Douglass88 for some just as bad beers on his side of the country, heheheh. LOL. Lots of foam on this to the end anb it finishes with a slightly processed feel to it. So be it, finally tried all five brews in this variety pack. Saturday, March 13, 2021
cheap	2.3 Peter Straub Pumpkin Amber Had low hopes for this considering the other few I had out of this fruity five pack. Looks pretty good out of the can. Smell is typical spiced pumpkin. Taste is a little rough at first but now I think I'm gettin used to it. Yepper, quite a unique pumky olfactory. I'd say this pumkin is a little different than many domestic pumpkins. Pump key, pump key, pump key. Could use a little less pumpkin impact on the buds. I think I can feel some real straub lager in there, just maybe. Friday, March 12, 2021
cheap	2.4 Straub Winter Bash The correct name for this is Peter Straub Winter Bash, a part of the Peter Straub Signature Series. Its in a brownish can. Got it in a variety pack for 50 cents. Pour is slight haze on pale. Lots of fruit in the nose. Taste is rather rind like and orange, off sweet candy. I must say however, its a little better than the other two I've had out of this variety pack, ghose were a little artificial on the palate. Hard to pick out the raspberry in this, if there is any. You know, overall I don't think these fruited straub beer series live up to the reputation of Straub but I guess they're just trying to get on the wave of 10,000 new beers that so called beer experts are seeking out. Decent tick, but would not purchase again. Straub needs to stick to the basics of really good plain old lagers and lager related drinks, that's were they shine. Sunday, March 7, 2021
cheap	2.4 Peter Straub Grape Escape Pour is slightly tinted pink pale. Slight grape nose. Initially, it does have this grape flavor but its not over done. I know it says natural, but the flavor does come across as sightly artificial. Not as smooth as it should be considering the brewer. I think straub has sold out on this one. cheap	2.6 Peter Straub Autumn Smash Got this twist off bottle at JR's, nice big place. Big clear pale pour. Pretty good carbonation. Nose is fairly mild lager beer with very little hint this is apple. Taste is certainly not over the top in apple flavor, you almost have to search for the apple, tho it's there. Yes, a fairly mild fruit beer that is better than average, no dullness what-so-ever. In the end it does have some processed feel to it. Could be a little more tart in my humble opinion.
