Four String Vanilla Porter 3.4
Can pour opaque dark brown with rapidly dissipating tan head. Nose sweet caramel, light vanilla. Taste vanilla, caramel, mild roast as it warms. Thinner mouth feel. Not bad, no off putting flavors, but not outstanding either.

Four String Solo Series #17: Switchblade IPA 1.2
From a can this is one of the most viscous mouth coating bitter experiences than Iíve had in a long long time. So.....I guess that means youíll like it? Inverse my numbers if you like ipa, this is digging into the impy arena fer sure. If you like this somewhat terrible style, my rating is a 4.5! Yeah, move it to the impy ipa double ipa style my ratebeerian friends. Quite rude you mah-fahs.

Four String Brass Knuckle Pale Ale 3.3
12 oz can at home. Pours a dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, a hint of caramel, citrus, grassy, herbal hops, grapefruit, finishes kind of bland, dry, ok but there are many superior options.

Four String Solo Series #24: Troika Belgian Tripel 3.4
Tap. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex spice and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer.

Four String Solo Series #17: Switchblade IPA 2.8
12oz can. Looks golden/amber. Aroma of bitter and floral hops, some pale and caramel malts, a little bit of tin, and some dough. Flavor not the best. Average texture. Not the best IPA, but not sure how fresh this can was - it was way before the best by date on the bottom of the can.

Four String Brass Knuckle Pale Ale 3.4
Draft at Nation, served in a pint glass. Pours a clear deepish golden color with a small eggshell white head that settles into a ring. Pale and sweet malt backbone holds together leafy, grassy, citrusy, and slightly spicy hops, with some green and black tea for measure. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tea-like, slightly malty, barely bitter mouthfeel. Not really a ísession ale,í as they say, because itís a little too heavy on the palate for that and the ABV is to high. But itís a good APA nonetheless.

Four String Solo Series #24: Troika Belgian Tripel 3.4
4oz on tap at Brass Tap. Mostly clear golden color. Thin ring of white head. Decent ridges and bits of lace. First impression: pretty decent. Pretty much what youíd expect from an American tripel. Light herbal, mild spiciness, bigger bready base, mild citrus, touch of banana, mild belgian yeast funk. Good longer herbal funky mild spicy aftertaste. Seeing the touch of honey mentioned by phaleslu. Light to moderate bitter, moderate to bigger sweet, some milder alcohol warmth in the finish. Mild slick texture. Light carbonation. It works pretty well. If you like tripels, I think youíll agree that this is a respectable american example.

Four String Solo Series #24: Troika Belgian Tripel 3.1
Draft at The Brass Tap-U Square, served in a flight. Pours a hazy gold with a small white head that laces the glass and settles into a little film. Notes of banana, golden raisins, sugars, sweet bread, hay, cereal, and honey. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and an estery, intensely sweet mouthfeel. Itís not flawed in any particular sense, but itís just too much.

Four String Payback Pilsner 3.4
Draft at The Brass Tap - U Square. Pours a clear gold with a white head that leaves light film and a sheet of lace in the glass. Has a good pilsner snap, with grass, straw, and pils and sweet pale malts, light herbs, and a bit of plastic. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, clean mouthfeel. Good pils; nice that this is a canned offering.

Four String Vanilla Porter 3.3
12 ounce can poured into a shaker pint. The beer is a clear dark brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has vanilla, a fruity chocolate, some ash, and a mild caramel note. The taste has mostly sweetness with a bite of bitterness in the finish. Medium body and higher carbonation than I would expect in a porter.

Four String Solo Series #24: Troika Belgian Tripel 3.6
Old note, draft from the taproom I believe: hazy orange pour, dirty white soapy lacing. aroma of typically trip - banana, wheat, yeast. Tastes are bubblegum, banana, other tropical fruits, clove, pepper spices. covers alcohol well. pretty good.

Four String Solo Series #17: Switchblade IPA 3.2
can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber color, rocky beige head, curtain of lace. Clean aroma of hops. Taste is malt that turns to fizz and solid pine hops on the swallow. Hops is all thatís left through a lingering finish. A better balance and more complexity would be better, but this is okay.

Four String Brass Knuckle Pale Ale 2.7
I don't usually like pale ales so I'm sure my rating in lower than most. This beer does have great color and aroma and pours with a very small head. As I expected the taste was a bit to hoppy for me and stayed around a little to long. I did enjoy this the more I drank and would probably order it if they had no other craft beers.

Four String Brass Knuckle Pale Ale 3.4
can @ Party Town/ Florence KY --- Clear medium orange amber, frothy white 2" head, splashes of lace. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste is a little malt, followed by solid, but pleasing, citrus hops. The hops donít load up enough to drown the malt, so the finish is somewhat balanced. A nice enough pale ale, but I can see no way to justify it as a session brew (5.75%abv? no way; on top of that, a very full body)

Four String Vanilla Porter 3.2
can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark mahogany brown color, thick beige head that slowly drops to a thin cover, wide lace bands. Aroma of malt with vanilla. Taste is lightly toasted malt with vanilla and semi-sweet chocolate. It moves through the swallow to an edgy finish that has a tiny shot of hops (translated, that means no change and no complexity). Overall, a decent brew, but similar to the other Four String offerings.

Pretty good all around.

Four String Payback Pilsner 3
can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear light amber, frothy white head, lace cobwebs. Aroma of malt. Taste is malt that adds medium carbonation on the swallow, then moves through floral hops to a finish that features a return of the malt, enough that the effect of the floral hops is greatly diminished. Itís okay, but not a solid example of the style.

Four String Skeleton Red IPA 1.6
Can. Perfumy hops aroma. Big thickish mouth coating ipa flavors up front. Borders on imperial ipa fer sure, wew. Seems like much more than the 7% listed here. Difficult personality, not sure if I can finish this can. What else can be said. Not impressed by its terrible on style performance. Probably should be listed as a rye ale.

Four String Solo Series #13: Infinite Lives Double IPA 3.6
Orange beer with a sticky white head ( from what I could tell in the dark bar). Sweet orange citrus nose. This is really smooth and doesnít drink like a 7.8% beer. Sweet syrup with some toasted grain notes. Orange, tangerine, apricot and some tropical fruit flavors that finish with a more bitter grass pine note. Easy drinking iipa.
