Ribstone Creek Lone Bison IPA
Courtesy of Ferris, can
Cloudy light amber color. It’s a malt soup, tastes like some Barley Wine, fairly sweet, a bit orangey, it has enough bitterness but the focus is not on the hops here. Flat carbonation.
Weird as IPA, but not a bad beer.

Ribstone Creek Lone Bison IPA
Rating #2158 - 2015.11.10 - Draught @revolutionyyc. Pours a golden amber, foamy white head. Aroma is heavy on grapefruit, citrus, pine. Palate is more of the citrusy, piney, hops with a decent hoppy bite. Not altogether unbalanced, some nice malty sweet notes, medium body, low-medium alcohol warmth, medium carbonation. Nice.

12 oz. can, pours a cloudy bright orange with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, caramel malt sweetness and some orange juice. Flavour is quite sweet, with lots of oranges, caramel malt, and some pine. Almost flat carbonation, which only brings out the sweetness even more. Too much malty sweetness and a weak palate make this one fairly unappealing.

Ribstone Creek Great White Combine IPA
Transparent golden yellow coloured body with a fair amount of coagulated sediment containing a recognizably large frothy white head that lingers. Relatively potent aroma particularly hop forward with notes of citrus, lemon, grass, yeast, and meager banana. Mid bodied and smooth. Robust flavour that emphasizes hops, corresponding with the aroma. Although a presence of yeasty banana is detectable, the majority of the taste is devoted to a grassy citrus hop flavour with a bitter, lingering finish. One of the hoppier white ipa’s I have experienced heretofore.

Can shared with blackhaddock in his man cave. Many thanks to Duffman for this. Pours hazy orange with a large white head. Big cardamom spice aroma. Taste is super spicy but vibrant and flavoursome, very much like a hoppy Wit. Great mid-share beer.

Ribstone Creek Great White Combine IPA
355ml can, shared with minutemat on 5th Aug 2016. Cloudy orange pour, big head of foaming white bubbles. Spicy and herbal in nature with an aroma that tells you straight away this is no ordinary IPA. I liked the blending of the malts (wheat too?) and herbal, hoppiness with maybe some Belgian yeast? Most enjoyable.

Ribstone Creek Great White Combine IPA
Rating #1733 - 2015.06.05 - On tap @revolutionyeg Hazyish light golden orange with a small white head - taking the "white IPA" to the level of aggressively dry-hopping a Belgian wit, essentially. Some bitterness to keep it interesting, but this is more of a patio creature than a NW IPA, white or not.

Ribstone Creek Great White Combine IPA
Appearance: hazy deep gold with one finger of rocky ivory head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: clove/coriander, white pepper, citrus, pine, wheat. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, mild pepper. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, mild bitter and spicy finish. (4/5) The usual suspects call this an American IPA, but I beg to differ. It’s definitely a White IPA, or a Belgian-style IPA if you want to be old-school about it, but that’s not much more accurate than the A/IPA designation. Ultimately, this is a great example of why BJCP formally added White IPA as a style as of 2015: it really does marry two very disparate styles to create something entirely new. The aromas are definitely dominated by a Witbier-like pepper and coriander, whether actual spice and/or Belgian yeast, but that’s quickly followed by a citrus and pine hoppiness that wouldn’t normally be present in a wit. Nope, this is its own beast, similar to how the Black IPA is, but I think I prefer this style - and the is a good example of that style. Ribstone Creek has really hit this one out of the park. Hazy golden color with frothy white head. The nose is full of cloves, spicy with decent hoppiness. What I expect from a white ipa. The mouth is light, smooth hoppy with tons of cloves. Decent bitter finish. Good example of the style

Hazy dark amber with a thin foam. Nose is pretty thin, a hazy citrus. Taste is much thicker with a good balanced bitterness and resinous palate. Aftertaste has a bitter vegetal note like slightly over steep green tea. Overall very drinkable, but not going to become a go to.

355ml can. Pours a cloudy orange-yellow with a large, fluffy, long lasting, white head that laces beautifully. Sweet aroma of tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine, wheat malt and coriander. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruit, wheat malt and coriander with a dry, bitter, hoppy resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Wow! A great offering coming from small town Alberta.

Pours cloudy gold with a small white top. Aroma is citrus hops and light cereal hops. Taste is nice a sharp citrus hop flavouring. Small yeastiness throws me for a bit, maybe a belgian yeast? or maybe its from the malt, light cereal but there is something in there that isn’t making it awesome for me. But definitely very good. Thanks to Reimer for this.

Along with an award winning porter when you add blueberry and age it properly with bourbon soaked oak you get a delicious cask. Smooth bourbon flavors and vanilla along with blueberry compliment the roastiness of this porter very delicately. Alot going on but all in balance... Could drink this all night but not for long as it would put you out.

Aroma is citrus and fragrant with some hints of grapefruit and spices. Taste is refreshing with a light sour and medium bitter. Hints of lemon and herbs topped with a medium bitter hop and some spice notes. Light bodied with soft carbonation and slick texture. Overall a nice tasty beer for the summer patio or BBQ at home. I would drink this year round.

Pours a beautiful bright straw yellow with a hazy body, thick puffed up pure white head. The aroma is estery, spicy and hopped up with light clove and coriander notes, sweet toasted wheat malts, citrus heavy hops. Sweet and phenol heavy with light citrus and spice esters, a bit of banana fruityness. Tons of citrus notes, bitter on the finish with a lingering lemon peel and coriander note.

On tap at Keg n Cork Liquor. Visually satisfying with it’s pure white head and cloudy, light golden colour. Fabulous nose hinting at what is to come. And it does. Is that unique flavour all on the Galaxy hops? Or is it due to brewmeister magic? Not for IBU freaks. Love this brew. Unbeatable summer go-to.
